I agree with Backfire. It looks very unprofessional. I was a big fan of Jersey European and the old color scheme. It had class and a character all its own. This looks like some kids with spray paint attacked the airplane.

Vancouver has a huge Asian population, mostly from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. We also have quite an extensive East Indian and Middle Eastern population. West Africans are also coming to Vancouver more noticeably than before.

I just got home from seeing the movie "Bowling for Columbine". It's basically a documentary about gun control in America. I can't remember the exact year, but for the same year there were 165 deaths attributed to guns in Canada and over 11,000 in the US. If you really want to see a good movie, this ...

Personally, I agree with Mark. CP knew YVR and they knew Asia. AC knew YYZ and Europe. I find it interesting that ATC didn't let him know. That's not exactly a little slip. Had that been foggy and rainy (never in fall in Vancouver!) with low visibility that could have been a problem. This isn't big news - this is the first I've heard of it.

Neil, let other have an opinion too, there is no right or wrong answer with this. If AC wanted to make YUL into a hub, they could do that. The fact of the matter is they don't want to make YUL into a hub. They want to focus on YYZ plain and simple.
