Airbus has probably done a good amount of the development for the freighter version... probably just left with freighter specific needs. But this does benifit A. alot. They can focus on the pax versions, get that mess sorted out. 10 freighters being requested would really only mess A. up. One less w...

for the NWA 747 I guess they kind of had to fix it to get it ouf Guam, not sure how much free space they would have for a 747 to sit with its nose on the ground. as to the 727, assuming it is the one i recall, (how many are missing?) then there was all sorts of talk about it being in various places ...

It is time for Airbus to make some of the tough decisions, it won't be pleasant and I am not one to be for people losing their jobs, but to be a more effective competitive company getting the factories closer together will do a lot to reduce their costs and allow for much better efficencies.

RE: Why Aren't Airlines More Understanding Of Airbus?

The airlines won't have much sympathy for Airbus, obviously they want them to exist, provide competition to Boeing etc, but when it comes down to it, the A380 has been a mess for Airbus, they didn't make the hard decisions prior to the A380 project starting, ie all designers use the same software.
