It is really Qantas' responsibility to ensure that the airplanes that are maintained Overseas are done so in accordance with their Standards. Qantas should be regularly auditing these MROs.

Potin, I'll say it really slow this time. Timbers are used to help support aircraft if skins need to be replaced, If you can use a cradle, thats what you would do. There is an old saying, when in a hole, stop digging. So stop digging. The 787 will have stringers, frames and skins, just like the A350...

2015 is a long long long ways away. Boeing has considerable wiggle room in those 8 years. There is little doubt that they will double book quite a few of those delivery positions (say after 3 plus years out) then manage them. If everyone still wants their slots, increase production.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the US case against the EU pending in the WTO, regarding large airplanes. Maybe they feel it is prudent to wait until this plays out in the next 6 months, before commiting to the A350.

I think that the frame/floor beam issue is "bigger" for ILFC because the time between heavy checks. If the A350 can achieve parity with the 787 (12 years) then they (ILFC) will be able to write a lease for 12 years, like they now can for the 787.
