Australians Traveling Via UK C-17

Was watching the Australian troops depart from Darwin by air for the Gulf where they will be replacing the Dutch troops guarding the Japanese engineers. They appeared to be boarding a British C-17 as it was obviously a C-17 from the view and it had a large Union Jack on the side.

Any info on this?

Good order for them, I think the Rafale will suit their structure really well. Interesting to see if this will foster other orders now that someone other than the french have bought it. It will at least keep the production line open a while longer.

US Aircraft Lost In Vietnam

I was watching an episode of Tour of Duty the other day and at the start there was the stat that the US Air Force lost aprox 1629 aircraft during the Vietnam war. Is this true? I am staggered if it is as I did not realize so many aircraft were lost, I was not around when the war was going on. I can'...

I transferred all my mother-in-laws old family tapes onto DVD at Christmas, very easy and very quick. You can pick up cheaper DVD recorders than $600 surely. They sell them here now for only about $300, with a stack of 50 blank DVD's for $50 as well. I would go for the minus type, which seem to be w...

Hope all will be well with their families.

So many accidents with helicopters, particularly there in the Middle East, what is the cause?

Is it too much use, the hot and high conditions of these countries, or do helicopters just have too many moving parts?
