Re: Delta Air Lines Network - 2023

A retaliatory flight at MSP is such a throwback to the NW days. I remember when NW announced DFW-LGA right after AA announced MSP-LGA. Did that NW route ever actually launch? I recall at least one NEW "retaliatory" route around that time (early 2000s) coming totally out of left field bein...

Re: Delta Air Lines Network - 2023

DTW-HPN has been flown since the 1980s. NW flew it with DC-9s up through 2005/2006 then moved it briefly to CR2s and then to CR9s since 2007s and ever since. I think the ARJs were in there for awhile too. MSP-HPN was operated for a period in the 90s and early 2000s with DC9s and ARJs. DL flew CR2, ...

Re: Delta Air Lines Network - 2023

MCO is a flight attendant base and so is NYC. I don’t think they’ve ever built trips out of HPN, but it would be easy to route the plane and flight crew in from ATL. FAs could be from another base or maybe they’ll build the trips as co-terminal turns. HPN is not a co-terminal, but there are many FA...

Re: Avelo Airlines News and Discussion - 2023

To be fair, airline fares from the US mainland to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are filed as international fares. Don't ask me why; I've always wondered but never found out the reason. Not to excuse the mistake, because it does show a lack of geographical understanding, but if you're just look...

Re: Avelo Airlines News and Discussion - 2023

Disagreed. While I agree some impact, I’d argue that 70-75% of Avelo traffic is coming from people who would ordinarily use JFK/LGA/EWR/HPN. Certainly BDL has taken a slight hit, but maybe 100-200k, which is being offset by Breezes large expansion at BDL. BDL continues to rise YOY over 2021 & 2...

So now IAH could have 2 HND flights. Why? What is the connection between IAH-HND….connections? Does NH have that much larger of a network from HND than NRT? IAH absolutely doesn’t have the O&D for 2 HND flights, so it has to be connections. Conversely, Boston has zero Haneda flights. DL would b...

This is exactly what gets Delta pilots upset. There is no way both DL and AF operate this route.
