High fuel costs and the predominant use of inefficient 50-seat regional jets in a small local traffic market is what made the MEM hub unprofitable in the first place.

Disregard my previous post in this thread. I just did some research and found that the airport people were the ones who wanted the service, not QR. I think quite a few US airports are more likely to land QR before PIT does.

Delta is currently adding extra flights from ATL to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Key West to help evacuate residents from South Florida. Additionally, all flights from ATL to the Caribbean have been cancelled.
