RE: I Saw An AA DC10 At DCA

hmmm, AA DC-10 at DCA. Well, the last heavy at DCA wasn't too long ago, only like 2-3 years ago when a United DC-10 emergency landed at DCA cause the weather was "socked" in at BWI and IAD. I live right near the approach path for 19 at DCA, in Arlington, VA..so yes, durign the time I was lucky that ...

RE: DCA: WHO Should Get The LONG-DISTANCE Slots?

What I've heard, here are the long-distance flights and airlines that will unlikely to be flying out of DCA. Long-Range: American Airlines to LAX Boeing 757 Delta Airlines to Salt Lake City Boeing 757 Frontier Airlines to Denver 737-300 National Airlines to Las Vegas 757 Short Range: American Trans ...

Today, I saw a American Trans Air Boeing 757 at Reagan Natl. Airport. What a surprise, that's a first. Tomorrow (April 13) ATA starts flying to Chicago Midway using the Boeing 757 aircraft. Can't wait to see Frontier and other new airliners into DCA.

At DCA, Gravelly Point is nice park to watch planes arriving on the "River Visual" for RWY 19. Two ways to get there, by car, go on the GW Parkway North and turn right to the park. Or you can bike to the park which there is a bike route along the park. If you happen to be at the airport, you can wal...

I liked to go to Denver. the Dulles Observation deck is mighty fine, but sometimes it's cool when a heavy i.e Spanair's 767-300 taxi's by you, what a sight. But from the Ob's deck, the runway is really far, it's about a mile apart from RWY 19L/1R to 19R/1L, so you're in between. But binoculars will ...

Not illegal if the plane isn't in motion. I agree with Nikonman, if the plane's in motion or anything it's illegal but it was during after a flight, once we parked to gate then I got to sit in the captain's seat and mess with it. :-)

Cockpit Stories

I have been on a flight from DCA-LGA, USAirways Shuttle, 727 last summer and I visited the cockpit when the passengers were boarding. I told them I'm gonna be a private pilot and the Flight Engineer actaully let me "pre-start" the engines and I thought he was joking but he's not. The Flight Engineer...

COS-DEN United 737/A320
IAD-Harrisburg, PA TWA DC9
RDU-CLT USAirways A319.
My shortest flight on a jet was from LAX-SAN, 27 minute flight on a United A320.
