Will CVG ever be renamed as William Howard Taft International Airport? CMH was renamed to John Glenn Columbus International Airport from Port Columbus International Airport back in 2016, and it was announced this week that SDF is going to be renamed as Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport....

Allegiant has added CVG to ORF service beginning June 7th with 2x/week service. Interesting route, but its only 2x/wk so you never know. Now that the A220s are coming in and B717s are finally being shifted east, it will be interesting to see what routes they upguage at CVG. Apparently NK and/or G4 are announcing some new routes tomorrow. Sounds like it will be an interesting morning, even if nothing comes for CVG/CMH/DAY. Recently F9 has been loading new routes over a series of multiple days. There is definitely a shot that they load CVG-BOS in the next few days.

I don't think this would be wise for AS, DL also might be connecting Asia traffic through this route. The load factor for August for DL's CVG-SEA flight was 86% and it was on a 738. If Alaska brings in what they typically do, a 739 I don't think it will work well. Maybe the could connect some folks...

AA also has its last scheduled MD80 service on 9/3/19 from CVG, with the route picking up A319s after that date.

Just a quick data point, flew CDG-IND this past Tuesday. 71 total pax on board, 15 up front and the rest in Comfort +/Economy. Never seen a plane as empty, but certainly didn't mind it. Pretty good June loads for the Paris flight, seems like WOW had some effect, but not too bad:
CVG-CDG: 92.6%
CDG-CVG: 82.5%
There is definitely room for another TATL flight if WOW doesn't come back next summer.

I found a flight to GRU on October 27th, the GRU cut seems to be a seasonal suspension at least as of now. My question is, does anyone know what they are doing with the aircraft? I thought that they would be healthy with GRU in the summer. If they do end up keeping it, it’ll be a good week for DTW....

Effective Feb 14, one of the CVG-DFW MD80 frequencies will be switched over to an A319. Although its technically a downgauge, hopefully this will allow for some mainline to flow through CVG (as DFW is the only MD80 station). WOW is giving PIT the axe, things are not looking good for them. I have doubts that FI is going to be able to pick up all of these routes (CVG, STL, CLE, PIT, DFW, JFK, SFO). Hopefully other carriers are looking at CVG...
