But can US carriers add service? Yes, they can. It only impacts Mexican carriers. I’m thinking Mexico may be short of oversight staff due to COVID. There may be a business reason for this due to the growth of Mexican LCCs in the US, but I’m doubtful. They can, but I don't think they can carry a cod...Jump to post

Forgive me if I missed it, but any updates on the new Polaris Lounge at IAD? Just curious if work was slowed or halted due to covid. I think it was originally supposed to open sometime early next year, wasn't it? It was paused in May last year, but at the time called 'almost finished' or "reac...Jump to post
Just a reminder that this is an aviation forum, not a medical forum. Please keep the posts primarily based on the aviation aspect of this story.
There was a massive number of missed approaches at DCA the other day and unstable approaches. All sorts of heavy aircraft landing on 33. I think you mean large aircraft — DCA doesn't see any heavies! capitalflyer started a thread on it a couple of days ago https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic....Jump to post
Please keep the thread on topic. There are a lot of personal attacks and personal comments. Please try to respect other users when posting.
I picked up my cousin at MCO yesterday. He flew NK flight 841 from RIC to MCO. The aircraft was an A320. He said literally every seat was full. Packed. That got me to wondering how much traffic has picked up now that Covid vaccines have been widely disseminated in America. As an aside, we have many...Jump to post
My apologies at all, didn’t see winds that strong where I was, but MD/VA did get some winds. I do get frustrated by threads that make operations seem like a spectator sport, second guessing decisions, operations. You're right in that there are frequently threads here that are a bit overblown (no pu...Jump to post
We changed hands again about four years ago (maybe six months after the migration), and not long after, development to the site pretty much halted. I don't see that changing anytime soon. It's frustrating for all of us as well, but there's nothing we can do about it. Makes me wonder if anybody has ...Jump to post
It’s a windy day, big whoop. As a pilot, we’re trained to land on, guess what, windy days. Spring time brings windy days, which in the central plains of the US are called breezy days. Not really big whoop — IAD had a gust yesterday that hit 55kts. That's fairly significant no matter where you are. ...Jump to post
As with other high caseload countries, they issued a 212(f), restricting entry into the US for foreign nationals who have been in India within the prior 14 days. Could you tell me how that is differs to the terminology I used, ie people from India ? In English, a US foreign national from India woul...Jump to post
Some of the posts in here are starting to get quite personal and borderline hostile. Let's take the tone down a few notches and just have a productive discussion please.
Antonov 124 just landed on RWY 30! Wonder what she is carrying? A Globemaster (C-17) landed about 30 minutes or so ago as well. If you're talking about IAD, they see some real interesting metal fly in. I flew AMS-IAD and on final I spotted Gambias IL62 hanging out on the ramp. It was a great sight!...Jump to post
Don’t get me started on that. They made “improvements” to the T4 ticketing level. But it looks like they did it on a bare bones budget. White flooring with white walls. It reminds me of an insane asylum. I’ll have to take a picture when I am there next time. It looks bad in my opinion. The only col...Jump to post
The action has begun. Winds have picked up considerably. IAD using 30 for arrivals. Just watched a Brickyard with a rough landing at DCA using 1. Should have used 33! ANA 9652 went around. This is an odd flight number, what would this be? FR24 states it is 789. Also, Emirates 2543 from CPH landed a...Jump to post
It's still a pain in the ass regardless. It's an antiquated way of uploading images and actually got worse after the migration. It is. Unfortunately the platform the then developers chose (phpBB) isn't really conducive to posting images, but it's a solid and commonly used forum platform. They heavi...Jump to post
DFW showing delays due to staffing. Anyone know if this is covid related? It's not listed as a covid impacted facility, but that doesn't mean that it isn't. It's possible that one or a few areas are short due to contact tracing. I don't have any particular insight, but I do know firsthand that cont...Jump to post
Anyone have any updates to the new United Club? I know it was put on hold for a while, but since I'm assuming it's just a matter of furnishing the space, I can't imagine there's a huge amount of work to be done. I've heard a few rumors, but nothing seemed to be very definitive. Not an update so muc...Jump to post
All you need to do is upload them to Flickr or Imgur. Then copy the url as a .jpg and use the [img] code. Otherwise, you can just post the raw links. It's not as easy as it could/should be, but I went to ASU and even I can figure it out, so no PhD required. The site migration was nearly five years ...Jump to post

Why does it seem thats this place has flooded with pro AB fanboys, even some of the ones who are pilots, their post trickle with sarcasm, and others so bitter that their hometown airlines own Boeing a/c (you know, the lesser brand, the one that can only win orders by giving away free planes") ...Jump to post
You are correct... I think they just bought the AOC, but it is a new company. That's the fast track to your very own airline. IMHO as far as cargo goes GYR could play a big role at Amazon. There is room and Amazon has quite a few distribution facilities on the west side. I think the window for Gateway to play any large role in the Amazon network is closing quickly and will be closed in the next 3-5 years. Why can't United take this opportunity to work out a new lease with the MWAA to move at least some of it's operations into gates on the A/ B concourse. Racist statements will not be tolerated. There won't be warnings. There's nothing wrong with presenting opposing viewpoints, but there's no need for blatantly racist language.
Users should use the report post function to bring things like that to our attention quickly.
The big problem is though Delta never targets DTW for growth. They want to make DTW a O/D heavy market. They are a shell of what Northwest once was in the Midwes...Jump to post
