Re: Reason for your Favourite aircraft bias?

People might think me odd, given most contributors have listed various types of jets, but I like the old turbo-props. There is just something about the lines of the Dornier 328P that I like. The cabins may not be anything special, although I do like the 1-2 configuration: ideal for a passengers trav...

Re: Best flight to avoid Jetlag.

The distance from London to Cape Town is further than the distance from Perth to Hong Kong, so it's certainly long haul. Anyway, any flight that would fly straight north or south will not get you any jetlag. The further you travel east or west, the bigger the jetlag will be. Oh, I wasn't suggesting...

Re: When's the last time you were carded?

Silly me. I thought that you were asking when was the last time that I was sent of for bad sportsmanship. Lol. In some parts of Australia it was/is the practice to ask for ID when selling alcohol in bars and/or stores as in some areas there were/are local laws that allowed people to be banned from b...

Re: Best flight to avoid Jetlag.

I am not sure if this would count as long haul by everybody here (although it does fit the Eurocontrol definition of being longer than 4,000 km (2,200 nmi), but an easy one would be PER-HKG. Not only are Perth and Hong Kong in the same time zone (UTC+8), neither has Daylight Savings differences.

Re: If you could change one thing about flying as a pax on mainline, what would it be?

The crew forcing people to close window blinds drives me nuts. I can understand why this happens on some flights but I think it is a bit much when the airline charges a fee for selecting a window seat and then doesn't let you look out of it. Even worse, airlines that charge for window seats but don...
