Great report, nice to read about the Aer Lingus Transatlantic product. The pre-clearance (although it didn't seem to have much of an effect in your case) is a very attractive prospect. Trying to fly into Boston from Europe these days is a nightmare, and I imagine the situation to be similar at JFK.
Jump to postI don't see an airline like EK wanting to tarnish their brand by codesharing with the likes of WN. I mean, come on people. Yeah, because, like, who'd want to associate with a carrier with an unmatched reputation for quality and safety? I'm in agreement here. Southwest seems to have a great reputati...
Jump to postGreat report! KLM is my favourite airline, and your report shows why - friendly, reliable service at all times. I've never had a bad flight with them, and I'm glad to see that they provided you with an enjoyable experience.
Jump to postGreat report - I always enjoy flying with Icelandair, but as you say, the limited terminal space at Keflavik is really becoming a problem now.
Jump to postEin wunderbarer Bericht. Es freut mich sehr, die "Silverbirds" zu sehen. Ich finde, dass die ehemalige Farbe von AA war die beste der Welt. Auch ist die MD-80 eines meiner Lieblingsflugzeuge. Vielen dank! Hope that makes sense ;) I have been learning German for a year now, so reading your ...
Jump to postThanks for sharing. SAS is an interesting airline, and one which I would very much like to try some day.
Jump to postI think that subtitles are usually provided underneath the video when played on the aircraft. They're missing from the Youtube version however.
Jump to postGreat work as usual. Etihad Regional doesn't seem like a great airline, but it was great to read a report about a flight to Lugano - not something you see very often on A.Net. Thanks.
Jump to postLooks like they are picking up the final 2x NZ 763ERs to go along with some of their other ex-NZ 763ERs. Correct. Ex-ZK-NCK and ZK-NCL, 19 and 18 years old respectively. Per Planespotters.net, both of these airframes have only ever operated for Air New Zealand. The two 767s currently in the Iceland...
Jump to postThe growth potential of the second wave are a bit limited on the European side by nighttime curfews in a lot of European airports. Jump to postNice report. It seems like a fairly solid product, but it's a shame about the little quality issues like the wear and tear on the seat, and the moving map not working. Also, I think that not being able to open/close the blinds and being forced to accept a filtered view of the outside world would rea...
Jump to postJust to follow up my last post and looking briefly at tomorrow August 1 as a snap view on Icelandair secondary wave. Jump to postAre they still receiving or looking for second hand 757s in the short term? Planespotters.net (https://www.planespotters.net/airline/Icelandair) lists only two aircraft on order for the airline at present, both Boeing 767-300s. However, that does overlook the aforementioned Boeing 737 Max aircraft,...
Jump to postALL of them are staying in KEF. Delta isn't connecting anyone through there. Its a tough sport for Icelandair to try to roll their hub, that will mean longer layover, but it might make for more comfortable experience. Exactly, so Delta's primary aim seems to be to siphon off O&D passengers from...
Jump to postNice report. Not a great fan of Ryanair, but they seem to do the job quite well here, with minimal fuss.
Jump to postI don't have exact figures on hand for MSP I'm afraid, but Delta is one of only two Skyteam carriers operating at KEF (the other being Czech Airlines). Their service very much caters to O&D, rather than transit traffic. In the latter category, Delta cannot properly compete with Icelandair at KEF...
Jump to postWith current passenger volumes and an undersized facility I'm surprised that they haven't placed a cap on adding additional service. To put things into context, the majority of Icelandair traffic operates in a very predictable day-to-day pattern, namely that there are two main "waves" of ...

Jump to postPer the Instagram post, an official unveiling should follow, so we will hopefully soon have better pictures of the livery.
Jump to postThat looks like a -900. Nice livery. Are the Alaska titles in a light gray? One question, does it make it easier to put all special liveries on one model (-800 v -900)? Any benefit here? Love the new livery, btw. It is indeed a -900. You are correct, thanks. It could be the lighting, but it actuall...

If I remember correctly, it was noted not so long ago on this board that Southwest would accelerate retirement of their Boeing 737 Classic aircraft. Jump to postwhy is AF-KLM leaving the cargo market? They aren't leaving the market entirely, but global demand for Air Cargo is weak at the moment. Perhaps some small consolation; this article seems to indicate that KLM will not be used as a bargaining chip during negotiations between management and the pilot's union: http://www.nltimes.nl/2016/06/10/dutch- ... ir-france/ Of course, one of the grievances of the Pilot group was the growth at KLM...
Jump to postWhat a shame, I'll be sad to see those noisy little Fokkers go! They are quite a nice ride too. AMS is getting more boring every day. Jump to postI always liked flying on the Fokkers although the F100 was always more my favourite than the F70. That they are going is inevitable since Fokker is no more. Jump to postGreat report. The British Airways Boeing 787 seems like a real enjoyable experience. The AA 777-300, certainly in terms of hard product, seems very competitive.
