ATL for CM is a surprise. I really think so. The model of CM is based on loading planes through PTY with passengers coming from abroad. However, DL has a decent Latin American coverage from Atlanta, even though their weekly supply of flights is not the same before March 2020, in most cases. Regards.

The opening of new US destinations heading to Central America may start with limited weekly frequencies.
For instance, UA ORD-LIR, UA ORD-SJO, UA SFO-LIR and DL ATL-RTB are barely operating on a weekly basis.
The current demand of passengers doesn't need more seats in such routes by now.

As far as I know, the community from Guatemala and El Salvador in L.A. is huge compared to the other Central American countries.

CM has chosen AXM for international flights, rather than the expansion of its national subsidiary there.
