Back in my days at DEN/Stapleton, Trans-Colorado, Pioneer, Centennial (before Mesa), Rocky Mountain. Almost forgot GP Express.

Before those were Wright, AeroMech. Mall. Comair is now long gone, too.

Trans Asia comes to mind as well, though a bit later.

The most efficient profile is to climb as weight permits (so a continuous climb), then descend at idle thrust. Of course, traffic and therefore, ATC, limits that possibility.

I'm really doubting that these will return to service. UA for example has the oldest 777's out there (launch customer in 1995). I highly doubt that it is worth it to bring them back into service considering that there are so many newer replacements, like the 787, that are coming in. I'd be inclined...
