Why would they make an <acronym title="Air Madagascar">MD</acronym>-80/90-type jet? they already have one in the shape of the A320/321. Also, there would be little point in competing with the likes of Embraer and Bombardier in the regional stakes, as they seem to have it all wrapped up. Besides, jud...
Jump to postWith comments like 'Boeing=better', I feel there is every reason for attacks. Also, how the hell can you predict that the 787 will last 10 years longer? The damn thing ain't even built yet, so let's not get ahead of ourselves! Was Boeing better when Airbus invented true 'fly-by wire'? Is Boeing bett...
Jump to postI'm amazed that the aircraft taxied back to the gate with blown tires (4 at least according to the video) - is this normal practice?
Karl
The Avro is extremely quiet, as was its predecessor, the 146, although from the inside they are quite noisy. They make a unique sound on taxiing and take-off, and the only other aircraft I can think of which makes similarly quiet sounds is the EMB-145 (which we at <acronym title="Manchester - Intern...
Jump to post...and as usual, most (and I do say MOST, not ALL) of the folks here giving the A380 a hard time have a US flag next to their IDs........
What is it about this trend?

It's not really an 'each to their own' issue here - no-one likes excessive noise in their photos and the Panasonic is guaranteed to produce this. The Canon point-and-shoot is, put simply, a better overall camera, and anyone choosing a Lumix over this (especially after reading this thread in its enti...
Jump to postIf, as you speculate, it was an XL flight, then it was probably the Travel City 743 with the XL tail titles. Think it might be TF-AME.
Karl
TF-ELA is not a <acronym title="Manchester - International (Ringway) (MAN / EGCC), United Kingdom">MAN</acronym> based aircraft - or if it is, it hasn't been seen here for ages! As for based aircraft, it really does tend to change an awful lot these days. The list above is pretty accurate, except we...
Jump to postSo I hear, both the 400D and 30D are generally noisier than the 350D. Personally, I'd probably go for the 400D, because it certainly ain't gonna be a worse camera (overall) than the 350D. It's also a lot newer, so as mentioned, resale value will be higher. I use a 350D and I must admit I've been ext...
Jump to postIt is a well-known fact that Panasonic Lumix point-and-shoot cameras suffer from very high noise levels, even at low ISOs (I think most of them go down to ISO 80). A friend of mine once had one and it was great for general and indoor use but really suffered when pointed at a plane.
Karl
Same engine physically but surely uprated due to the extra weight?
And yes, that part of the cowl does look a lot newer.

Sitting at <acronym title="London - Heathrow (LHR / EGLL), United Kingdom">LHR</acronym> yesterday I photographed the following Iberia aircraft. <table BORDER=0 width=102 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 STYLE="border: 1px black solid;"><tr><td><a href="/uf/view.file?id=536894305&filename=1158941547Xh1cu...
Jump to postAs others have said, picture quality is more to do with how good the glass on the front of your camera is. Jump to postWell I know that Panasonic's point & shoot Lumix range suffered from terrible noise levels, even at ISO 80, so I wouldn't be surprised if the same applied to their SLRs. Personally, I'd always stick with the big two - Canon and Nikon.

Well thanks for all the info guys. I found the field at the end of 09L, although the only grassy bank I could see was that leading up to the dual carriageway at the back. Was I in the right field? There was a gap in the fence for entry with a little path going down. There was a line of trees at the ...
Jump to postThanks guys, all help appreciated! Anyone know how I get to the end of 09L, as I'm far from local?

Hi all, Although I'm not new as such to A.net, I have only joined today. My name is Karl Nixon, and I'm based at Manchester Airport (<acronym title="Manchester - International (Ringway) (MAN / EGCC), United Kingdom">MAN</acronym>) in the UK. I am a photographer, but I do not upload my pictures to A....
