RE: Help With Photos

Hmm the Southwest shot looks like it should be decent. What do you use for editing your pictures? If you use photoshop, there is a walkthrough on the site that can help you edit your pictures correctly.

RE: Help With Photos

I personally would like to see the rejected images and the reasons as well. Once that is known corrections could be made and acceptances will follow.

It might not be a matter of doing something wrong, but rather tweaking your post processing.

Thanks! Think this really would stand a chance reworking and going with 1024? Just don't think there is much I could do to handle the dark rejection without overexposing or blowing out the top of the fuselage.

Post Screening: Len90

Had this rejected earlier today. First time I ever got oversharpened and soft. Thought the image could only be one or the other. In addition it was dark. I'm guessing oversharpened on the titles and soft on the tail? Any way to correct or is this just an image for my own enjoyment? <a href="http://w...

I guess the only difference lies in the body used. dcaviation were you using a crop sensor body? Then I would assume 727LOVER was using a full frame.

Clipped rotor IMHO is fine and thus no worry for a motive rejection. It will probably get a quality rejection. Seems like there is just too much noise. However, I'm on my school laptop right now and the display on this thing is a piece of garbage.

Pre Screening Level Question

I've been having some issues with the level on this image. Currently have this in the queue and am hoping to finally get it accepted. Last submission the grid lines showed a straight line across the windows of the fuselage. Was rejected for a slight CW...

Interesting to see some of those examples shown by acontador. I have some pictures from the Atlantic City airshow that I was on the fence about due to centering, but good to see there is this recent change and discussion. I guess having a plane a little high with the smoke below showing an idea of t...

Hey Vik, Don't want to beat a dead horse, but wasn't there something where once a picture is appealed that is it, like the picture is no longer listed in your rejected photos or selectable for appeal. If not, then I think that might be a good idea to implement. As to the OP, I personally would just ...

RE: Full Frame, What Is The Big Difference?

I personally made the move to full frame in April and haven't regretted it at all. I tested out a 7D and there was way too much noise in it at ISO100. As for the downside, Colin is right that you get a slower frame rate. However, that has not affected me at all. I've been getting way more pictures a...

This week's schedule sucks. 9-4 most days with 9-3 on Wednesday. As for the location, there were a lot of police around last week. I spoke to one LEO when I was there and they have come to understand the hobby but don't want such "long lenses". The 400 definitely would be attracting too much attenti...

I don't have the 2.8, but I have experience with the 70-200 f4L and Canon 1.4x III. There might be a small drop-off in quality, but for me not worth spen...

RE: Screening Criteria Changes

I personally like the relaxing on contrast and centering. I actually took a cool shot the other day of a plane being towed into the gate. I sat there staring at it wondering if it will be worth my time editing it being "off-centered". I see in the coming days that might not be the case. If all this ...
