Very surprising. I would have thought such a deep partnership with 9w would have made it work. Obviously not!!! Poor Etihad don't seem to be having much luck with their investments lately. Anecdotally speaking, I think it's doing well. The wife just traveled to BOM on QR last month and it was packed on a weekday. Looks like Indian community in ATL prefers QR judging by my interactions around work and socially as well. But again I do not have access to hard numbers.

Does your wife have a valid permanent resident card issued after 1998? Then she may be exempt. If you go to the link given by baw217 you will see a link to "find out if you need a visa". Just follow the on screen instructions and it will take you to the exemptions page. Didn't check the tickets, but...
