I was reading a report on TWA800; am I correct that the fuel tank exploded because of a live wire? The explosion was caused by the lack of fuel in the tanks. on there wbsite they list on as extended range and the other as long reach.

There numbers are really close and I've never heard of a long reach. Is it the same as long range?

Hi guys,

I was wondering why a bird will cause an engine to shut down. i thought I remembered the 777 engine being tested with 60 pound birds.

Wouldn't a bird simply be destroyed?

What are the chances of the engine being restarted after the strike.
