Fedex is the only reason IND is not still at the “Old Airport” they pay IND millions and ask for nothing in return .. anyone could run IND. With some basic math skills..they can’t even operate a 24 hour bus downtown to help the FedEx workers without a car get their night shifts ... they also pay zer...

PIT and CLE are failed airports that lost hundreds of flights... IND needs to be more like CVG / SDF/ STL add value and not be a “cash drain” on the city and the airlines .

The quickest is stairs forward and aft .. but in the USA we have the ADA law so must always use a jetway “if available” or can be sued under the Americans with disabilities act

The lakeshore limited and the Capitol Amtrak trains run across the top of Ohio to Chicago every evening. We do have rail option Amtrack in the USA just people don’t like them. The Cardinal runs Cincinnati to Chicago 3 days a week.

Yes IND is high cost airport compared to SDF and CVG it’s just sad they are jacking up the rates ...that will mean less flights in the future ... hope IND can spend less and keep rates under control ...even McDonalds had to stop selling the $1 Cokes because The airport “jacked up our rent “

The US Government has banned the 747-200 from their bases worldwide (except AF1) so that was a game changer for the operators ; of course they gave plenty of notice to the operators

The new Holiday inn Ameriplex is the closest about 2 miles... the ones at the old airport are ok and reasonably priced IND has about 900 rooms within 5 miles of the airport so I don’t see why anyone would want to add one on “overpriced” airport property .. The the freedom bird SEA-OKO-DNA-OSN. It’s how our military gets to where they need to go ..on the east coast they use BWI

FedEx even used to fly this route with when they took over flying tigers .. was cool to see FedEx flight attendants. They also flew LAX-OKO

State of Indiana spend 5 million for this flight it’s a complicated payout system .. but whatever it got the flight .. looks like Ohio would rather spend the money on fixing the potholes on I- 70 ... both have their arguments

According to the Indy 500 awards banquet a few hundred men and women were actually sworn in the military on the track.. so I guess this flight will take them back to FT Hood for basic training

These are not emergency unstable patients... they need more advanced medical care ..brain tumors and things like that can only be treated in population centers of 1 million or so and who pays the bill is important..

Most USA airports also fund a reliever airport that can take a few planes GYY (Gary Indiana ) gets about $3 million a year from the City of Chicago in case of disruptions at MDW or ORD.

Guam has the same thing .. some foreign nationals hold Guam only visas ... not sure how the new “heartland “ visa will work .. but the Guam and Saipan only visa system has been around for many years. So they need to preclear the Guam to Honolulu flight to make sure everyone is allowed in “the Big USA”

Normally on a lightning strike all the power shuts off for about 1/2 second to protect the circuits . In the daytime it may go unnoticed .. it’s a bit scarry but normal

USA ADA law says “reasonable accommodation “ must be made for people with disabilities of you can be sued easily . Other countries don’t seem to have the same protections the USA has

USA fire code is also more strict the Jetway provides 20 min egress in case the plane catches fire wile fueling..
