Hey folks - got some questions: 1). How is the bailout being paid for once President Trump signs off on it? 2). My wife earns $125,000 per year while I earn $55,000 and we file jointly but I assume that I will get a $1,000 check and she will not. Is my assumption correct. 3). How will the $1,000 che...Jump to post
Congratulations! I just paid off my 2017 Volvo XC 60 that I bought used. I was originally going to pay cash for it but instead I put a large payment down as I needed the balance for something else at the time.Going to start putting money away now for the next car.Jump to post
The international standard is English. ATC must be able to communicate in English. However, local languages are also supported in most (?) places. This is not unique to Quebec. In Mainland China, France, and Russia, ATC is in English+Mandarin, English+French and English+Russian respectively. Air Fr...Jump to post
UA SFO-FLL cut unfortunate - no more UA flights from south Florida to SFO. Maybe this flight returns for the winter season? We will see. Doesn't UA still fly SFO-MIA? I know they were doing that last winter for a short period. That only leaves Jetblue for SFO-FLL and AA for SFO-MIA for nonstop flig...Jump to post
I was listening to the air traffic controllers in Montreal and Ottawa the other day via LIVEATC.NET and it was interesting how they switched between English and French. I assume the controllers in Quebec are required to be bilingual but does this requirement apply to the other proveniences or just Q...Jump to post
In April I am taking an AS flight nonstop from FLL to SFO that leaves at 6 am but arrives at SFO at 0930 am which is nice. Seems like this flight is operating only during Spring Break/Easter.Jump to post
Has Southwest Airlines always ran less than daily flights since their inception or did they (the flights) start occurring in just the last few years?
Sounds to me he knows Trump is going to win another term and he has a movie in the wings so it's time to get back to Hollywood and become a Dem again. ‘Mule’ was released in 2018. His politics aside, Clint’s credibility has anyway fallen since the overdone sensationalizing of the NTSB scenes in ‘Su...Jump to post

Last December I flew SFO to FLL on B6 on their daytime flight and considered paying extra for Mint but decided against since the flight was only 5 hours long.Jump to post
Surprisingly low load factors for a lot of the intra-Texas flying. Is it? Some of those small cities don't need a 737 multiple times a day for pax but I hear some cities (like CRP) do really well with cargo. And then the big draw on DAL-HOU is obviously high frequency for the business market. Why w...Jump to post
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but will AS start to serve MIA from SEA once they join OneWorld?Jump to post
I am of the opinion that Nancy Pelosi should retire ASAP. When you look into her eyes she just doesn't seem to be with it anymore. A great career so perhaps she should now bow out and enjoy time with her family.Jump to post
Thanks as always! Hourly?!? DL response obviously. **AA MCO-MIA JUN 7>12 JUL 7>12 AUG 7>12 SEP 7>12 OCT 7>12 NOV 7>12 Not only is it hourly, it's purely mainline. Here's an example of the aircraft for July 15, 2020: 2x 757-200 2x A321 1x A319 4x 737-800 3x 737 MAX 8 (subject to ch...Jump to post
You have to apply for and pay for the TSA application to get Pre-Check. You will then get a refund from the credit card for the TSA fee which I believe is $100. Once set up, you provide the TSA number to AA to enter in your Advantage account profile, and it will append to your bookings when you ent...Jump to post

Like the rest of you I have been following the crash of Kobe Bryant's helicopter. In a high profile crash like this one does NTSB assign their most experienced investigators to the investigation? Or is whoever next available assigned to the investigation (providing they have the required technical s...Jump to post
I'm hoping to better understand what it means when an operator is said to be "VFR only", as opposed to a pilot or aircraft being "VFR only". It comes down to check and training capability, aircraft maintenance, and record keeping. This would be defined in their opsspec. A pilot ...Jump to post
Good Evening, I'm trying to book a flight home from HNL and I see UA has multiple connection opportunities for these super short layovers in LAX (sub 1-hour). I've never connected through LAX, and I'm typically very anxious about short layovers. I'm looking at two options: UA 2036 HNL - LAX *39 min...Jump to post
It will take a while for the official findings to be released but there are always lessons. The weather is being highlighted over and over. If it does get ruled as contributing factor, I wonder if "Get-There-Itis" played a part. Too many pilots get into bad situations when there is pressu...Jump to post
How long before someone launches a lawsuit claiming this places “undue burden” on vulnerable people? The rule change has to go into effect, first, but it probably won't be long before some person or group challenges it. Such a suit might get an immediate injunction to pause the rule - and it might ...Jump to post

When the ABC Store (think 7-Eleven) in Kona closes at 11PM you know there isn't much demand for 24-hour flying.
I use Priceline fairly frequently and indeed the bidding option has been done away with. For hotels, Priceline now features "Express Deals" in which one can get a good price for a hotel. The catch is that the name of the hotel is not provided until the customer reserves.Jump to post
Spirit is adding seasonal daily OAK-FLL Tragicomic for OAK that every recent addition seems to be counterbalanced by a larger reduction. I was just looking into traveling from South Florida to SFO in March using AA miles and the lowest mile requirements are for nonstops and one stops with a quick connection but some of the highest mileage requirements are for flights that offer very long layovers/connections. I only had one in 2019. My flight from FLL to LAX (AS) arrived on time but my onward flight to SFO on AS was delayed by 3 hours due to the plane being stuck at JFK due to a snow storm. Not a big deal though as I was on vacation and I spent the time at the LAX AA lounge.Jump to post
