RE: Has Anyone Used Your Photos?

Yes. I've sold plenty of photos. I sold a couple of the Alaska M80 that crashed back in January. Also I have sold (to make quite a substantial profit) an AA 777 headon shot to a machine company. I guess it was "sleek" enough for them. I have been published on airline websites, including TWA, Contine...

Suggestion For Re-uploading

I don't know if this is possible or not, perhaps Johan can answer this question. Is it possible to have the photos that are accepted under the re-upload catagory to be posted on a page that is like the new uploads one already in place. Basically, this would let viewer xxxx see all the photos that ha...

RE: Fake Image!

Colin, I believe that a certain amount of "touching up" is needed on many, if not all pictures. It is very rare that a scanner will produce an absolutley clean, and perfect image. Here is how my "mentor" described it, "A film image is less sharp than what you see in real life, with your eye. When yo...

RE: Fake Image!

I agree with Joe 100%. I've had those questions asked about many of my sunset shots. I find it insulting to have people question the validity of my pix. However, when someone does have a composite photo, it should be marked as "composite" or not allowed on the site...

Joe, I believe this came up on the Skyone list a while back on the Kodak scratches. I have been rather lucky in sending shots to Kodak, only 1 or 2 have been destroyed, and about 3 or 4 have minor scratches on them. The independant lab I send to does as good of a job... Happy Holidays, cc...

RE: Photography With A Snow Cover

Where's your sense of adventure Mark??? Just dont allow your skin to be exposed. Anyway, shooting in the snow (i've never done that) I have heard that the reflective light will be greater, thus making it harder to get a good picture. However, if I were you, I would go up 1/2 stop (or if you use a Ni...

RE: Why You Should Shoot Kodachrome Slides

Hey Mike, Cameraworld (a local B&H...not as big) does not stock the 20 roll boxes of K64. When going on a shoot, lets say to Los Angeles or North Carolina, I bring anywhere from 20 to 40 rolls with me. Going through security and taking out 20 of these individual boxes out, is rather time consuming.....

RE: Why You Should Shoot Kodachrome Slides

First off, shooting with slides, regardless if it's K64 or Provia, or Agfachrome, the exposures need to be properly set. I think all of us are in agreement there. This is like the Boeing vs. Airbus debate, it'll never end. However, let's compare Mike's Virgin 74 shot with this one.

<a hr...

No problems with Provia, and I get it done on a one day turn around, at a local lab. Nobody up here does less than that. If i were to need it to be done in less, I could do it myself...not that I want to do that...

RE: Why You Should Shoot Kodachrome Slides

I've shot with the 70-300 lens with K64, and the results were OK. I am not a Kodachrome fan, at all, because I believe the film does not produce "true" colors. Every Kodachrome slide I have had enlarged came out with a blueish cast throughout the shot. If anyone is in the Portland area on a shoot, I...

There are lots of Motels around SJC, more to the downtown San Jose area by the Arena (off Almeden, and by 87) Sun is good pretty much any time of day in San Jose. Afternoon is probably the best, from 1400-sunset. Monterey is about 2 hours from San Jose (without traffic, which is highly unlikley)

The best way to reduce your film bill Mike is to put the F5 onto the single frame mode...

That 80-200 f/2.8 is a helluva lens, I've had mine for a year, and it produces the sharpest, crispest, brightest images I have ever seen!

You got a great camera there Ghymes, enjoy her, you're set for 5 or 6 years!

Mikey,

Regarding LAX ramp shooting, LAX is a very tightly secured airport. I have tried with no luck to shoot on the ramp in my last 5 visits, however none have worked. Personally, try SNA first, build friends there, then try LAX...

American M11s

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know where the AA M11s are flying now? I know they pop up here and there (Scott L. has one at LAX in July of 00). Anyway, is there any one route the M11s will stay on until they go out to FX or will they be used as a 763/777 sub?

Get yourself the N90. However, if you do go out and buy that 80-200 f/ 2.8 Nikkor baby, i strongly suggest you get the grip for the N90. It'll help you keep the camera steady.

I use both those lenses, and the f/2.8 one, on my F100 and N90. It's a great combo!
