Re: 757 / 767 question

Winglets were never installed on factory-delivered 757's or 767's. These were all after-market add ons. Believe 757's got the winglets first, and 767s at airlines that wanted them, added them later.

Re: UA 777-300er and new Polaris routes?

Back to the actual topic, I've read the 777-300ER will be used on some routes out of Newark (i.e. BOM, DEL, HKG, TLV) and from ORD to HKG, PEK, and PVG. Each of these routes though I think require 2 frames, so perhaps not all will see it. As for the 787-8/9 fleet, they will also get the Polaris prod...

Re: UA Cleveland Operations

As UA draws down the 50 seat regional jets further, is there any hope for E-170/75's on the LGA route? Would UA trim the LGA slots and use the slots (at LGA for other routes)? I remember when UA (and CO before that) was almost all 737-700/800 on the LGA-CLE-LGA route (with the -500 in the CO days) a...

Re: American Eagle E-175 Fleet

Very cool. Thanks everyone for the info. I knew L-US had them among the regionals operating for them. I was surprised at how large the fleet had become across the combined US/AA merged airline.

UA Cleveland Operations

United announced in February 2014 that it would de-hub Cleveland. The hub draw-down I believe was all but completed in June 2014. 2+ years later, I am curious as to what UA will do at CLE next. It remains the largest carrier there with I think 50-60 daily departures (peak). Any growth or thoughts on...

American Eagle E-175 Fleet

Recently flew roundtrip LGA to CMH and back on American Eagle on the E-175. Very pleasant experience overall. Really nice planes (have flown the E-170/75 on DL and UA previously, but first time on AA). Had a question about the fleet. They seem to have quite a number now operating for various Eagle p...

Re: VS Comes To SEA-LHR; DL Goes To PDX-LHR

I don't have the numbers, I was just asking (GENERALLY) whether DL was holding its own in the build up of the SEA hub and whether the growth was sustainable, is all. Perhaps seasonal adjustments reflect a higher percentage because the daily flight schedule is under 200 but perhaps over time, it will...

Re: United Economy - GVA to EWR

I had preferred the Swiss A330 flight as well (took it from JFK to GVA earlier in the year), but it was not available (this was a mileage redemption ticket). The Swiss flight appeared later, but then it was too late to switch. I didn't mind the early departure as I was coming from Cruseilles in Fran...

Re: How are NZ's IAH and LAX-LHR flights doing?

Would it be more economical for NZ to operate AKL-IAH with a 787-9 or do they need the extra seats/lift and the cargo that the 777-200ER they fly on the route currently (or is it that the 789's are spoken for on other routes)?

Re: VS Comes To SEA-LHR; DL Goes To PDX-LHR

Interesting to see the build up of DL at SEA on long haul being slowly pared back. Some transpacific routes do not go out daily, I believe at least one has been cut, and now they won't be flying their own metal on the LHR route. Hmmm...Does this call into question the viability of Seattle as a hub f...

Re: Delta 767-300ER Fleet

Interiors were upgraded and a nice ride, but the planes are looking old. What exactly looked old? Everytime I have been on one they're immaculate. No, you're right. The plane I was on looked well maintained and tidy and clean. There was some yellowing on the panels and some Delta maintenance tape h...

Delta 767-300ER Fleet

Flew on a DL 767-300ER from EWR to CDG last month (an ex-Gulf Air bird, built in 1991). Interiors were upgraded and a nice ride, but the planes are looking old. What will Delta replace these jets with eventually? A330's? 787's?

United Airlines 767-300ER

I recently flew GVA to EWR on a refurbished UA 767-300ER featuring BusinessFirst, Economy Plus, and Economy. It was one of the newer birds from the 763 fleet delivered in 1999 or 2000 or so and I think initially used on domestic flights. Pleasant ride, tidy aircraft, if still looking a bit on the da...

Re: American's 757-200 Transatlantic Routes?

Believe American Airlines flies the 757 from JFK to Manchester, Edinburgh, Madrid, and Dublin, and from Philadelphia to several destinations in Europe including Shannon, Dublin, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Brussels (I may be missing a few). Also, I think Boston to CDG. The AA 120/121 rotation between JFK and...
