Very true. I do think though that by next summer, even if we don’t have something, people are just going to decide to move on with life... it’s already happening to an extent. Agreed. Humans have a unique knack for rationalizing anything. And really; life is short-- be intelligent, mitigate your ri...Jump to post
The 717 fills a niche role in the DL network; there are going to be a lot of small and mid-sized markets in the southeast, northeast and midwest that will lose mainline service. They may have similar capacity, but the A220 isn't meant for the same missions. That's a wholly artificial constraint you...Jump to post
He has now said this multiple times.
No one should be surprised at this point. It’s no longer a question of “if” he’ll contest the election or not. Absent anything less than a landslide, bank on it.
Get ready. And vote. Early if you can.
Why did the flight attendants accept unpaid leave. No one needed to sit home without pay until October 1st. The flight attendants did what they did out of free will but actually they should have stood pat and got what they deserved full time pay until Oct 1st why shame the pilots for standing up fo...Jump to post
Yes. They are management material. I know all five of them in my station. FAs are not doing any work in the kitchen, here. Only in the tower. They handle close-to-departure catering issues that arise, and prevent actual management from having to step in when FAs are trying to hold departure for cat...Jump to post

They were released as a bid, and those that were interested in temporarily trying a different department were awarded that role based on seniority. Were these on a "regular" bid, or as Special Assignment via eBid? Any idea on how senior/junior they went? Same questions for anyone that wen...Jump to post
Before mass furloughs or layoffs, the WARN Act requires employers to notify effected individuals of a potential job loss. Delta only sent 2,558 of these notices to pilots, no other employees. It's been apparent for weeks that come OCT 1, all non-contract Delta front-line workers would still be empl...Jump to post
Flying 1 on/1 off is a separate program from going to catering/Res/etc. I’m not sure what specifically those that are going to the Flight Kitchens will be doing.Jump to post

Anybody have Bastian's memo referenced in the Star-Tribune link? Is there a time frame or other qualification mentioned? It's still marked internal, so I can't cite it, but the article on Delta's News Hub states summer 2021.. EDITED to add this link: https://news.delta.com/how-culture-and-creativit...Jump to post
The article does not mention, are they cutting hours or other types of things that will reduce pay or cost to the company? We have all been working under a 25% cut in hours, and that will continue through (at least) the end of the year. I didn't notice if the article mentioned how many flight atten...Jump to post

I think was at least one reason why we all got new clock numbers... Richard was all-in on the idea of having new clock numbers so no one could tell who was PMDL or PMNW. Yep. I'm not sure how much animosity it avoided, though. Everyone still introduced themselves as "PMxx." Also pretty eas...Jump to post
Employee retention obligations were part of the CARES Act (mostly grant) provisions of the Payroll Support Program, not the broader pool of business loans, if I'm reading sections 4111-4120 of the Act correctly. https://www.congress.gov/116/plaws/publ136/PLAW-116publ136.pdf I believe you're reading...Jump to post

The US is in the process of pushing the fall wave of virus. The current weekly counts are higher than the initial wave in March and April. Fatality counts are much lower(Which is good) . Delta has announced they are looking to secure a $6.5B loan facility backed by SkyMiles. DL had $19B at the end of Q2. Why put up Skymiles for additional capital right now? Now is the perfect time to bring 4-Hour rule stations back. I agree to a point. It will allow people to retain their jobs. However, I was bitter at times because those employees were basically only working the SAABS and RJs, but still on the pay scale of mainline employees working mainline planes o...Jump to post
