The little hub that ZV had down in CLT was short lived. I believe they did that LWB, BFL and whatever that third city in that trip was once a day also. I said the same thing when UA added routes ex-MKE, but I can almost guarantee MKEMIA will do well. People in WI see traveling to Florida almost as a pilgrimage. If you fly it, they will come.

Frequency is not as important as business travel will be down for a few years and some will never come back.


That’s true, but business or leisure, you still need a fair amount of connectivity to make hub complexes work.

I still contend that DL will want to run (relatively) high frequencies ex-ATL to places like CHS, AVL, BHM, etc...

Agreed, but DL wants that mainline frequency* in/out of ATL to small/med. markets in the south.

*I'm not betting against PSU.DTW.SCE's guess of 8-10 banks in ATL. In fact, I'd likely take the under.

Leasing the 738's certainly seems plausible.

As for the 717's, I could see them exiting the fleet this time next year, but a lot of that would depend on A220 deliveries. DL wants that frequency to mid-sized cities ex-ATL.

DL already dropped over 20 markets via DOT exemptions. If memory serves, only 4-5 (maybe 6?) are showing availability. My guess is the rest are gone for good.

You'd think a SEAL would know all about small sacrifices for the greater good.

As for DL itself, rules are rules; they have been extremely clear (and adamant) about mask usage. They have also stated that no one is above the "law," be it a Diamond elite, or a former SEAL looking for clout.

IIRC, NGO traffic has always been driven in large part by the auto industry (Toyota's HQ is there). That might've made the difference here.
