Nice Airport (LFMN)Questions

Hi! I am a frequent visitor but an infrequent poster(so far) on this site. My username Saleya22R refers as many know to LFMN Nice Cote d’Azur airport. Being the second busiest (correct me if I’m wrong!) airport in France by operations I believe it deserves its own thread on this site. Not too niche ...

Airlines seem to have somewhat different rules as regards air travel during late pregnancy. Many require a medical certificate during the last four weeks in other words from the 36th week. For transatlantic flights some have requested a certificate after 32 weeks. In the first case, the pregnancy wa...

You seem to have seen most of the Antilles in addition to U.S. and British Virgin Islands on your way to Barbados! I was surprised that you had even included a picture of Jost Van Dyke BVI. There is a place called Little Harbour on the South Coast. Had to check whether the restaurant called Sydney's...

1. How reliable is the METAR at Douala in the first place given that there is no radar service? Are only visual observations used? For example METAR at the time of the accident suggested zero wind. Many thanks,
In particular, I liked the picture of Esterel mountains with their rather unique colours. They can even be seen in the distance from Nice! I have driven along the corniche several times, great scenery there but avoid weekends and the holidays. It's where the Cote d'Azur proper begins.

According to several sources this morning, the plane went down near Lolodorf 145 kms south of Douala. I believe the cone behind the tailplane had something to do with the APU. The exhaust was located at the end of this cone, at least in Finnair's 10B's.
