Try the small grassy area adjacent to the parking lot at In N Out Burger @ Sepulveda/Lincoln Blvds. You'll have a great view of all the arrivals on 24R. Such a project, while it would certainly be a fix-all, would be cost-prohibitive, especially considering it took 12 years just to get the $5 billion rebuild of the Bay Bridge's east span under way. The money simply isn't there.

There are a great deal of birds in the vicinity of SFO due to the bay marsh and wetlands north and south of the field. I believe they use poppers like those described above to dissipate flocks.

Yes, that's the crucial factor with LA versus other busy areas - the proximity of 5 - 10,000 foot terrain all over the place, with poor visibility much of the time due to haze to boot.

I love the short -500/-600 too, but the -700 is tops in my book for look and feel and the -200 for nostalgic value. The -300/-400 bother me only because the wing seems so cluttered and small for aircraft of their size.
