RE: Best Daytrip Destinations From London

Manchester is pretty good. You got the option of the (high-up and distant) roof terrace, or catching a bus to the viewing park. I've flown up for the day on a couple of occasions, and always enjoyed it, although the variety is a little limited, but you get a good mix of long/short-haul/holiday traff...

I'm planning a 2-week trip to Canada in July, although can't decide where abouts to visit. Anyone got any suggestions for any "Must Fly" airlines or types flying over there? Avoiding the likes of AC and WS mainly. Toby

I've been to Queenstown, and Innsbruck. My personal fave to fly in and out of is London City. I also loved flying into some of the "airports" in the Orkney Islands. The likes of the Shetland and Faroes, would most likely be much fun as well.

Thanks for the comments. Osprey88, the noise on the SAAB is much more of a drone, the Islander really roars into the sky before growling all it's way to it's destination! FIrstly, a bit of background about this trip. Hi,

Never flown on an L1011, and would love to before they all disappear completely. Does anyone know of a current scheduled route flown by the type besides the regular RAF flights between Brize Norton and Ascencion/Falklands?

Thanks
