I could easily use Google but my aim is to utilize the helpful a.net community of global travelers to share any personal experiences, restaurant recommendations, and helpful hints while vacationing in St. John, U.S.V.I. February departures for Los Angeles - St. Thomas list red-eye departures with an...Jump to post
Airline industry braces for China Southern exit from Skyteam alliance, setting up clash with Cathay Pacific - South China Morning Post
Timeline hasn’t been announced as China Southern now weighs the benefits and impact of defection from Skyteam.
I’ve always wondered if KE has Los Angeles based flight attendants of Korean-Americans.Jump to post
Is it me or are the VW to XYZ threads getting out of hand? Sorry CLE, CMH, CVG, IND, MCI, MKE, STL, and now DSM: You are not Chicago and Detroit! Sure, you may be more pro-business, but 10M O&D in Chicago is tough to beat. And MKE, sorry, Will county will go to ORD over MKE. Hell, there are bus...Jump to post
I find the arrival process can vary depending on the time of the day and terminal location, so this airport ranking list cannot be 100% accurate. For example, it was noted above with SFO ranking among the slowest, however, SFO was one of my "better" arrival processing experiences. Los Ange...Jump to post
JAL always seem to impress me when reading these reports. I always go back-and-forth between ANA versus JAL concerning which is the overall "better" airline to Japan. But, maybe it's both due to the wonderful Japanese Hospitality I have experienced over time. Thank you for sharing your tri...Jump to post
As noted above, Seoul - Jeju holds highest number of daily frequencies. But this makes me wonder if there could possibly be demand for a seasonal nonstop Los Angeles - Jeju flight considering we see twice and triple daily services (depending on season) LAX-ICN with KE and OZ, for example.Jump to post
To North America, we will see the return of JAL to Washington/Dulles before we see an opening of BNA, CMH, CVG, AUS, IND, DTW, MSP, STL, etc., in my opinion. JAL used to fly the 747 into Dulles Airport but later discontinued it. Perhaps the 787 would be a great way to resume service.Jump to post
Los Angeles --> Orange County.
Does UA still operate this flight? It's painfully slow at rush hour to drive (making this far) and a little too short for flying.
Now that sadly, DL no longer flies NRT-BKK & v.v., no one will ever mistake <<passport plum>> as a THAI Airways uniform at Suvarnabhumi. I would have loved to see Christian Lacroix (Air France) do the uniform for Delta. Or maybe Richard Tyler doing an update?!!!! These uniforms don't quite spark...Jump to post
I don't mind the elimination of the upgrades as long as ticketed/purchased Domestic F tix. garner SkyClub Access. SkyClub access should be for the paying annual members, Skyteam Elite Plus, and First/Business Class tix. The lounges are too crowded, but far less crowded these days compared to about 5...Jump to post
Suites looks stunning! SIA certainly exceeded my expectations here.
Too bad the A380 will no longer appear here in Los Angeles. Maybe I will book with SIA when my travels take me across the Atlantic as the A380 will remain on JFK-FRA services.
Anyway, congrats to SQ!
Still, A Great Way To Fly.
Flying KE ICN-NRT one morning, I was greeted in Japanese by the lovely cabin crew. Since I don't speak Japanese, I spoke to the crew in Korean. There were 4 dedicated cabin attendants serving my side of the A330. With only 5 passengers seated in J, one would think a memory of me speaking to them in ...Jump to post
I remember my one and only flight on the DC8-Stretch. It was a United Airlines "Friendship Service" from Washington/Dulles to Newark. Later, that DC8 service would be replaced by 737-300 equipment which was just as enjoyable in those days.Jump to post
Classic ANet arrogance, in many ways. The 777-300ER 10 abreast seats are about 1 in narrower than 9 abreast. Go find a ruler and look at how big an inch is. For a biz traveler working on their presentation, do you think they can feel an inch of difference? For a college student going home for break...Jump to post
I think, it would take a complete psycho to voluntarily say a 10-abreast configuration onboard the 777 is just as comfortable as a 9-abreast configuration onboard the 777. I'm all for a healthy debate on these subjective topics when it comes from a place of education, but I've come to finally accep...Jump to post

When I hear/read about Pattaya, the first thought that comes to mind are news outlets and online blogs naming countless "Westerners" or "farangs" being victims of money scams, murder, suicide, extortion, etc. First-time visitors to Thailand (or any foreign land) should do their h...Jump to post
Great for UA to capture the demand for a nonstop flight ahead of SIA. I'm curious to see how many repeat passengers UA will see based on how well the current inflight service and onboard amenities are received outside of those passengers flying on the company dime. Sure, leisure passengers come and ...Jump to post

I am curious how HU will price Tahiti to stimulate demand for Mainland Chinese and Hong Kong residents during the charter operation. I can imagine the possibility of flying Los Angeles to Pape'ete via China at roundtrip priced lower than the nonstop services operated by Air France and Air Tahiti Nui.Jump to post
PPT needs a solution to improve the efficiency of passenger processing to reduce the long waiting periods from check-in to departure; arrival to baggage re-claim. Based on my personal experiences, LAX-ICN nonstop services in Economy generally price higher with KE and OZ compared to a single connection operated by MU and CI. The difference in fare can be ~ 400USD and higher in some cases. If Air Asia prices their ICN-LAX flight slightly lower than KE/OZ, they ...Jump to post
Personally, I appreciate the cabin color scheme as it gives me a feeling of cleanliness and cheerfulness. However, the little detail that slightly pales me in the A350 presentation is the embossed "DeltaOne" (located on the headrest) because it reminds me of "TransWorldOne" by TWA.Jump to post
Have flown many times thru TPE, but always on the evening flight and have never had any major delays. Don't know about the blankets but never had any problems. Always have Plan B in case your meal is not loaded/forgotten by catering. I highly recommend bringing snacks onboard just in case as things do happen. Finnair advertises faster flying times to Asia via their Helsinki flights from Continental Europe. Could a Finnair Los Angeles flight be competitive for Asia-bound passengers? I'm 6'2" (188cm) in height and you bet your sweet cookies I'm going to pay a supplement for a reasonably sufficient seat if I'm ticketed in Y. I cannot offer any reasonable opinion regarding EK or QR adding flights to SJC so I will reply to this thread based on my opinions with Korean Air. In terms of legroom, Norwegian has the best legroom of any airline offering Premium Economy. Seat Guru is my point of reference via a travel blog I read and confirmed.
On a side note, a colleague of mine mentioned China Airlines being one of her favorites to Asia when flying in W.
