Ansett sometimes ran extra flights SYD-OOL-BNE in peak holiday time. Took this once with an A320- the OOL-BNE sector took 20min from door close to open.

AZ pulled out (own metal) in 1998- I was on the 3rd last flight out of SYD. LH was long gone (1995?), their short lived Condor 767-300 cost cutting experiment being a disaster with lots of complaints. UTA (then AF) I think pulled out around the same time- AOM was flying the route by1998.

SN also couldn't sell a full pax DC-10 on many routes, hence their combi for that too. BRU was (still is?) too small a market, so most pax were transits.

Travelling on somebody else's dime is always enjoyable. Unfortunately, so many largo corporations have cut travel by 50% (essential trips only) that it's unlikely former corporate travel levels will return to anything close to normal in the short term.

No need to rename CMA CGM if it's cargo only- the freight rates are important, not the name for moving cargo. Possibly CMA CGM already subcontracts the air cargo part of their business to another company- now that business is moving to an inhouse subsidiary.

Pilots can move between different types. For example, many BA concorde pilots went to TriStars. I also remember Swissair had a problem with many senior DC-10 pilots who kept failing the MD-11 training (traditional cockpit versus glass cockpit)- these guys were then transferred to the small 747 fleet...

Beware of Spanish OTA Travelgenio... we had so many problems with their pax I had to instruct my ticket office during pre-flight checks to find their bookings and ensure there was a ticket number attached to them! That OTA also has an issue with not seeing real time availability with some systems so...

EK's ground handling is provided by DNATA (EK owned) and as stated above, DNATA could not access JobKeeper. I don't know how many Sales & Marketing guys are left at EK in Australia: 3 of the QLD senior sales guys were let go in OCT (not sure if the 2-3 others had left before or are still there).

+1. FYI Fiji Airways operated for several months without a station manager in BNE- Menzies handled everything and if an issue came up they couldn't fix/or didn't have authority there was an operational number to call in NAN, so no you don't even need your own staff on deck for a while.

This is nothing more than a revenue generating cash grab by QF- there is no way the vast majority of these flights will be operating from July. Case in point: in Italy and many countries, the vaccines are being administered in priority order and those under 60 won't get the shot until October.
