Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) Aviation Thread - 2021

MHT lost revenue so felt they had to raise prices to fund the expensive build-out they had done, which made it even easier for airlines to leave or cut services and potential replacements to stay away. The ones that have stayed by necessity are popular services (i.e. WN to Florida) and often sell o...

BTV has alot of overlap in southern/central vt and New York with ALB. I think BTV competes and loses alot more passengers with ALB and PBG than MHT. Lake Placid is a pretty large traffic generator (in normal times) for example, punches thousands of times above its weight because of all the events a...

Not quite so rare, but BTV had 3 Sun Country 738s today, also for military charters, and then later this afternoon a JetBlue A320 diversion from BOS.

BTV at the time also had a robust collection of UA flights to ORD, largely 727-200s. I'd be worried that the A220 is going to be too much airplane for market like BTV and PWM once the E190 goes away. My guess is that something between 9 seats (Cape Air) and 140 Seats (A220) will emerge to provide good markets like BTV and PWM with a reliable right sized fit to serve the B6 network....

Population and passenger counts tend to grow over time. Some of those airports should grow their traffic to fill the larger aircraft. That is a resonable guess and was option #3. PWM has always done pretty well with its yields, but F9 seeks bargain seekers and it forces the market to decide if they want to put up a fight or back away. Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Was searching for flights to BTV next June and saw DL is having a 738 on the ATL route, not sure if they have done more than 737 to BTV or not?! Hmmm, I don’t recall any scheduled DL 738 on ATL-BTV in years past. CRJ900/700, 717, MD88, 737, 319, I think 320, but not 738/9. Might also be a placehold...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Here are BTV's YTD enplanement results through August. JetBlue is really having a much-needed turnaround, a very encouraging sign. B6 either cutting back frequency or cutting to seasonal service would be disastrous for the airport. AA is only down -3% despite fairly draconian YOY capacity cuts on B...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

As someone who took the F9 DEN flight in June and it was close to full and so far have seen many of my old friends in VT take the said DEN flight, the route seems like a great add. I was surprised a bit to not see any winter additions from BTV on F9, RSW or TPA. But hopefully F9 sticks around and d...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

BTS numbers for July came out recently, and it looks like it was a big month for BTV-DEN. F9 had a load factor of 93.59%, and UA's mainline LF was 92.19%, which is much higher than any other month this year or last July, so DEN was seemingly a big contributor for them.

Surprised to see no videos of the crash so far. Maybe there are some, but just not being released pending investigation and for the families of those involved?

I got the impression from the FAA briefing that they had seen some video.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

BTV released their June numbers. Healthy load factors pushed enplanements up +7% despite a slight decrease in departing capacity. Looks like Delta's growth (I believe this is an extra crj9 frequency to both ATL and JFK vs last year) and Frontier helped offset AA's draconian PHL cuts (this year 4x d...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Is B6 still 3x daily BTV-JFK year round? or do they go down to 2x in the slower months? Seems like jetblue isn't exactly healthy at BTV They're loaded at 3x daily year round. They're load factors have steadily eroded over the past year or two in addition to what I see has been giving up a lot of pr...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

From a quick glance at the plans in the video, looks like the new TSA checkpoint will be added to the right portion of the terminal that is currently part of the apron. Then BTV will be able to remove the temporary container connector that I'm guessing is up and running now? PWM just built a white ...

I found the ATC recordings and they came in as an emergency and a compressor stall was mentioned.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

BTV is going to have the unusual distinction today of seeing all three of B6's current aircraft models today. B6 34 arrived early this morning with an A320 and B6 1634 is currently en-route with an A321 (Mint even!) I assume this is for recovery from the recent weather problems.
