I ahve a friend who is a captain for NWAirlink, He stayed a captain with the Saab until his senority was high enough to switch over to CRJ as a Captain. So at Airlink and most US airlines moving is totally based on senority. However I'm sure pilots will correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think UA will go int'l out of PHL. Those flts depend on connections, and its not a UA hub. We don't send too many inbounds to LH for the STAR Allience Code-share. EWR has taken a big hit since 9-11. UA's loads in PHL rose to 70% in OCT and NOV. Loads from EWR and JFK show those places where ghost towns.

Trans-Atlantic From PHL

With the opening of the new Intl terminal in PHL what kind of service will come to PHL? Heard any rumors? Currently US, BA have daily flights w/ LH and AF cutting back to every other day. For such a large city,and a large Metro area, PHL seems ignored by Intl' carriers.

BTW 777 cargo doors have small windows so the ramp rats can make sure the doors are sealed and locked correctly. I was told by a mechanic that this feature was a direct result of that 747 incident.
