Redngold is right. The recordings are evidence, and are probably top-secret material. I wonder why people would want to hear them anyway, other than to satisfy some sick personal want or need. I wouldn't hold my breath. They will probably never be released.

I agree that September 11, 2001 has become an excuse for law enforcement officials against plane-spotters. I was at the fence outside JFK's terminal 4 last month, without a camera, and was asked (more like forced) to leave anyway, even though there were no signs that said I could not be there. Prop/Turboprop: ATR42 Regional Jet: ERJ-135 Intra-Cont.: 757-200, see below. Inter-Cont.: A330-200 and 777-200. There's one 752 in particular that is my favorite, N6701 of Delta. Right, that's why I agreed with you. However I fear that sometimes we forget about the people behind the industry. They are, in fact, the most essential element.

<a href="/open.f...Jump to post
Tony (AirT85): In terms of finance and capital, you're right. Midway Airlines, the business, is worth nothing. But the people I saw working for them were worth a lot more. I will remember their smiles, the conversations and advice I got from their pilots. I wish them all luck in finding or retaining...Jump to post
I have a few suggestions, or desires, for my home airport, MCO, including some commentary...

PANAM: I would like to see the new PANAM move from SFB to MCO's new 4th airside terminal. It's a bit unrealistic, though, as PANAM is heads-over-heals with SFB. Regardless, ever since ...Jump to post
I am no expert, but yeah, AA operates the A300 on the Caribbean routes, but also domestically. For example, you can catch the A300 domestically on short hops in Florida, specifically MCO-MIA (which may be the only case). I think this is the only domestic route AA uses with the A300, but I could be w...Jump to post
MCO generally has a lot of trees in and around the airport. Flyitup: Pretty much any place in Washington D.C. is a spotting point for DCA. It's a great airport. A good place to start is Gravely Point (sp?). I am not from the D.C. area, but I was there a few weeks ago. Maybe someone else here on the forums can point you in the direction of Gravely Point. I ho...Jump to post
Seiple: It's possible that MCO and SFB are co-terminals of each other. Keep in mind also that MCO is under the jurisdiction of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and that SFB is under Seminole Country jurisdiction. When I did the search on Travelocity.com from MCO-BWI using PANAM, the same error...Jump to post
Timz: Unfortunately I won't be in Orlando on Friday. I'm going to Naval Station Mayport. I was at MCO today and saw no sign of Sun Country. Timeforflight: As far as I know, Sun Country has withdrawn all of its DC10 equipment from scheduled service. I believe their fleet now consists solely of B727-2...Jump to post
Hey everyone... Today I was looking up fares from Orlando (MCO/SFB) to Baltimore/Washington (BWI). I found some interesting results... Firstly, when searching MCO-BWI, PANAM showed up in the fare list! PANAM doesn't even serve MCO. But wait, the weirdness gets better... When searching flights...Jump to post
I am pretty sure Varig has JFK-based staff as well.

I wish I could see what you see in MSP. Sun Country is on the schedule here at MCO, but I haven't personally seen one of their aircraft in quite some time. I love their new livery and 737-800's. I hope they resume all operations.

I live in Orlando, FL and I am 10 miles from Orlando International (MCO), 5 miles from Orlando Executive (ORL), and 25 miles from Orlando-Sanford International (SFB). What about you? How far do you live from your home airport?

Dutchjet, I agree with your comments. Even so, the progress thusfar of the A318 development program has surprised me. I sometimes wonder why the whole program hasn't been cancelled entirely, especially after September 11 and because of the recent domination of the aircraft's intended market by regio...Jump to post
DC10Tony, I was out at MCO today, but didn't see any arrivals after 1500. The last I saw was the BA "Chelsea Rose" 777-200. The plane you saw was probably Delta flight 909, a 767-400, ATL-MCO, which operates 7 days per week. For more information on arrivals and departures into MCO, visit www.orlando...Jump to post
I assume you're talking about the daily parking garage. If so, then yeah, I've been there. It's a great place to go spotting. You can see pretty much the entire airport from there. Good luck in the future!
Chris in MCO.
Even so, it is foolish to ban airplanes that carry more than 159 passengers. 159 is just some arbitrary number. There's no reason for it. Passenger count doesn't affect the potential damage a fully-fueled airplane can inflict on a building when used as a missle. Were there any restrictions at LaGuar...Jump to post
I don't think there are any radius restrictions. US operates a non-stop flight to and from Orlando (MCO) on a A319. Also, I would think that if National Airlines flies into DCA, then there would be no more 757 restrictions. And, as mentioned above, AA has resumed 757 service as of July. Now that I t...Jump to post
I was just wondering if anyone on the forums was on JI428 yesterday. I definitely was glad to get into Reagan National after the five hour delay in Raleigh-Durham! I was actually pretty worried when the 5th hour rolled by--American's flight to DCA was $397.00, one way!Jump to post
It was mentioned in another thread that Condor has flown 767's to the United States--specifically, Florida. Where in Florida? I'm interested in knowing more about this service--was it scheduled or charter, things of that nature, etc... Also, currently, what aircraft types does Condor have in its fle...Jump to post
