Re: India Said to Plan Selling 51% in Air India to Strategic Partner

I do not see Air India being privatised in the near future. But old timers might recollect a time when it was possible, and the air line came close to being sold. Seventeen years back, Air India was put up for sale by the then NDA government that was gung-ho about privatising state owned companies. ...

Re: India Aviation Thread - March 2017

PE was an ill conceived move in my opinion. In a country where most air journeys are less than 2 hours, few people would pay extra for a bit more legroom and slightly better food. They should have gone with a high density economy cabin and a small business class.

Hi allrite
Thanks for a great trip report. I must tell you that you have quite a way with words. A few months back I followed the link to your blog and stumbled upon the report of your first trip abroad - that was quite a fascinating read. I sincerely hope that you overcome your anxiety of flying.

Re: India Aviation Thread - February 2017

I am surprised that Indigo is not using the NEOs to resume DEL-SIN and BOM-SIN. These two routes were part of their international inaugurals in 2011 when Aditya Ghosh proclaimed that they'll both become 3x daily in the future. Both were axed within a year. I assumed then they'll be reconsidered once...
