Re: Senate bill reintroduced to raise U.S. pilot retirement age to 67

How about just lowering the ridiculous 1500 hour minimum for new pilots down to something reasonable like 500-700 hours? That might help make flight training attainable for young people. We only got 1500 hour minimums as an over reaction to the colligan air q400 crash in buffalo, and it was 100% ov...

Re: Senate bill reintroduced to raise U.S. pilot retirement age to 67

If you can still get a first class medical at 65 and 66, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to fly 121 until you're 67. It's all about fitness to fly, and many 65-67 year olds are healthy as a horse. The FAA is behind the times in a lot of areas. Does the first class medical exam sufficien...

No rumor. Just a poster's opinion. Chances of FLL are probably little to none until the NK deal is figured out. Then I could see MCO and FLL.

Re: JetBlue/Spirit Merger Discussion - 2023

I am sorry but Delta is the monopoly that needs to be at LGA. They are the ones who were allowed to have almost half the slots at the airport. Why force anyone else to give up slots? I think your point is valid. Even a combined B6/NK and AA wouldn't come close to the slot portfolio Delta has at LGA.

Re: JetBlue/Spirit Merger Discussion - 2023

It almost seems unnecessary to make B6/NK divest slots at LGA since they (even combined) have a rather limited number or slots there. That doesn't mean it won't be required, but they are (even combined) a rather minor player at LGA. B6 only has the service level it has currently at LGA because it i...
