Re: Delta Network Thread - 2022

Normally I would agree that this isn't punch/counterpunch, but: a) LFs are terrible on many of these routes, but they are increasing capacity over 2019 levels? b) They are adding MCI/MKE/SAT-JFK right after B6 launches them..... IMO, DL didn't need to add MCI/MKE-JFK since they're already competing...

DL restored hot meals in FC on flights over 900 miles last month. Not sure if RJ-900 have ovens, but flight will at least get meal boxes if not (DL stopped serving snack boxes as meals in FC last year). That's something. Definitely something. DL applying some pressure: MCI/MKE/SAT-JFK will be added BNA-LGA gets A223 service Also not new but DL will be adding/or has already added the A220s to competitive BOS routes, BNA/CVG/DFW/iND/MCI/MSY/ORD/RDU-BOS I suppose 'applying some pressure' is one way to interpret this. I'm still surprised DL made no competitive response to B6's JFK service in MCI. They're still doing 4 or 5 E715/CR9 on LGA-MCI. WN is adding a second LGA frequency in April, and AA has their 2 LGA frequencies on E-Jets. What sort of "response" would you expect from DL? 4-5x daily on LGA-M...

Re: B6 Going to A223s on EYW-JFK/BOS

The switch was inevitable. I still think B6 should exercise options for the A221 for markets where the A223 may be too much plane, and for the case of short runways I think the A221 take off distance required at MTOW is 4,800 feet. I believe EYW is 5,076 or something with the displaced threshold, bu...

That's not why B6 pulled out of DAB. Loads were decent year round (they used to post monthly loads on their website) averaging at least 100 people per flight which means they were filling their A320s with more pax than their E190s were capable of handling. The problem was the airfares. People weren...

Several years ago B6 gave DAB a try and even got some guaranteed fare compensation from the airport authority for a couple of years. However, the daily route to JFK was just too seasonal, so they pulled out. I still think a less-than-daily airline like MX might be able to find a way to make DAB wor...
