Normally I would agree that this isn't punch/counterpunch, but: a) LFs are terrible on many of these routes, but they are increasing capacity over 2019 levels? b) They are adding MCI/MKE/SAT-JFK right after B6 launches them..... IMO, DL didn't need to add MCI/MKE-JFK since they're already competing...Jump to post
DL restored hot meals in FC on flights over 900 miles last month. Not sure if RJ-900 have ovens, but flight will at least get meal boxes if not (DL stopped serving snack boxes as meals in FC last year). That's something. Definitely something. DL is adding back JFK once daily on the CR9 starting Jun...Jump to post
DL applying some pressure: MCI/MKE/SAT-JFK will be added BNA-LGA gets A223 service Also not new but DL will be adding/or has already added the A220s to competitive BOS routes, BNA/CVG/DFW/iND/MCI/MSY/ORD/RDU-BOS I suppose 'applying some pressure' is one way to interpret this. Another way is just DL...Jump to post
Lol! That was predictable. Hopefully they’ll have better luck than their first try back in 2006. Doubtful. They're using a CR9 against an A220 on an airline known for its inflight product. The only perk for DL is the premium cabin, which nowadays isn't anything more than Even More Space on B6. Lets...Jump to post
I'm still surprised DL made no competitive response to B6's JFK service in MCI. They're still doing 4 or 5 E715/CR9 on LGA-MCI. WN is adding a second LGA frequency in April, and AA has their 2 LGA frequencies on E-Jets. What sort of "response" would you expect from DL? 4-5x daily on LGA-M...Jump to post

DL is adding back JFK once daily on the CR9 starting June 6. Obviously a response to B6. Was hoping they'd just upgauge LGA instead. Delta may be more on time, but jetBlue's product is worlds ahead of what you'll get on an RJ. Lol! That was predictable. Hopefully they’ll have better luck than their...Jump to post

The switch was inevitable. I still think B6 should exercise options for the A221 for markets where the A223 may be too much plane, and for the case of short runways I think the A221 take off distance required at MTOW is 4,800 feet. I believe EYW is 5,076 or something with the displaced threshold, bu...Jump to post

I am going to go out and say: A June start/resumption date is likely to hold at this point as its at the 3-month mark which is about the timeframe for some degree of confidence and a % of advanced bookings. Makes sense for those routes to capture peak summer leisure A September start/resumption dat...Jump to post
If HVN when the new terminal goes up, DL to ATL and UA to ORD and IAD would round out the 3 airlines with Avelo. AA is too erratic in service. In June 2021 AA proposed two HVN-CLT flights and a few months later dropped the planned flights. CLT is much better that PHL which AA stuck to HVN. Even now...Jump to post
Asking again, seems like DL dropped Hilton Head. No PR that I can find, no nothing about it. Just vanished. Anyone know what happened? Did you check the schedules before freaking out? Following up from the previous thread, anyone want to make an educated guess on what 2022 holds in store? Here’s my list. 2022 Predictions - DL reinstates CVG, adds JFK, upgages BOS/LGA. That's not why B6 pulled out of DAB. Loads were decent year round (they used to post monthly loads on their website) averaging at least 100 people per flight which means they were filling their A320s with more pax than their E190s were capable of handling. The problem was the airfares. People weren...Jump to post
Several years ago B6 gave DAB a try and even got some guaranteed fare compensation from the airport authority for a couple of years. However, the daily route to JFK was just too seasonal, so they pulled out. I still think a less-than-daily airline like MX might be able to find a way to make DAB wor...Jump to post
I do think 2022 may finally be the year DAB gets an LCC or ULCC... its the only Florida airport serving a beach that doesn't have an LCC or a ULCC My guess is Breeze or Avelo if anyone at all. Starting to see the 717 return to longer, (by 717 standards) mid-range flying, that had previously disappeared. This includes: DTW-MSY, ATL-YUL, MSP-CLT. It's LGA that gets both all mainline and higher frequency from DTW/MSP.
MSP-JFK continues on RJs, DTW-JFK does as well.
Surprised to see DTW-HPN axed. It's been operating again for the past few months.
I can easily see them going to GYY. Extended runway, transportation links improved (though still not fantastic), and a willing city and state. They can make the west coast from there to connect the network, without having to up directly against WN, F9, or anyone else. Exactly. HVN was hardly a hotb...Jump to post

B6 in my opinion consistently falls short when trying to compete against Delta, especially when it comes to JFK -DTW/MSP/ATL In addition to DL hubs at DTW/MSP/ATL, one issue that B6 faces on JFK-DTW/MSP/ATL is that B6 faces ULCC competition on all 3 of these routes with NK operating EWR-ATL nonstop...Jump to post

Delta will go on the defensive against B6 and will launch all mainline flights to BOS beginning June 6th with 3x daily A220 service. There is no way this route can support that amount of seats. While my personal hope is for ISP-Chicago, I think it will probably be Frontier adding a city like Denver. F9 is the only carrier adding services lately at ISP. Breeze is also a possibility. B6’s OTP has been a disaster for years. Back when I used them to fly to DAB rather often the flight to DAB was on time maybe twice. The turn they scheduled in DAB was 40 mins which is barely enough time to turn an A320 at an outstation that tends to have a heavy need for wheelchairs. I wasn’t sad wh...Jump to post

I don't know about 757s, but IDA can certainly handle 320s and 737s.
Longest runway is 2,500 feet longer and 2,000 feet lower than JAC - definitely fine for a 757.
Is there any reason NYC-MCI should be DL's turf? They are not that large in MCI, comparable in size to AA. With B6/AS codeshares, AA will have the best network out of MCI for business flyers.
