From the local news stories I read, these chimps were not supposed to be in the same enclosure, but somehow escaped into the area. These people were experienced handlers, at least with the animal they were visiting and probably did know what they were doing. It will all come out eventually.

I have a cheaper, older Magellen 330(i think). I use it for rough land surveying. It is routinely within 20 ft accurate. I thought I read the newer ones are more accurate. There are some extensive GPS forums around. Google is your friend.

I live on solar power and watch power usage very carefully. Recently I built a new box to use as a Digital Video Recorder(Tivo) It is amazing how much more power the newer chips use. I can't use the thing as its meant. Even in standby they are sucking power. More than 2x the older chips(P-1).
