DC trip suggestions.

Looking into heading to DC at the end of March to use up unused 2018 vacation time. Would like to keep this trip easy and reasonably priced as possible. Planning on three or four nights will be flying into DCA from Manchester, New Hampshire. Was thinking on staying near the airport and taking the bl...

Why do people keep discussing MHT getting international service? It's not going to. Manchester is not an existing port of entry like Portland and Portsmouth are. The federal government has proven stingy about hiring adequate CBP staff at existing ports of entry. The only reason why PSM is an intern...

The airline business is funny and fickle. I really don't believe the name change to 'Manchester-Boston-Regional' had anything to do with its backward slide, nor do I think a new name will help it revive. Airlines do what they do based on things that are more macro than that. However, I'm cautiously...

UPS has been flying 757s between MHT and RFD. So that alone may account for their increase. Within the area of MHT, UPS has opened a giant logistics center that may be why the RFD flight exists. Or it may be entirely coincidental. It may not be a strong limb, but I’ll go out on it anyway: AA will l...

Southwest does reasonably well at MHT, but their overall numbers are falling, the worst case scenario for Manchester would be a large reduction in WN service as a result of falling pax numbers. Cutting down to 3x / day to BWI or cutting Florida flights would be near apocalyptic for MHT. I didn't se...

For the B-1, Dyess AFB in Texas and Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota are the places to go. And, Whiteman AFB in Missouri is your go-to for the B-2. I un...

I’m sure although those short RJ flights to EWR are so brutal for delays when EWR has weather.

The late afternoon flight is probably delayed 50% of the time sometimes a couple of hours.

Southwest then has less competition and jacks up prices (no longer a low-cost airline, at least definitely not out of MHT), which only drives more leakage to BOS. It is a troubling trend here at MHT, and even the most pessimistic among us felt things would turn around long ago. But as far as Southw...

Lots of doom and gloom written about MHT. That said, I think AA is actually growing at MHT. There is no reason UA shouldn't be, except for themselves. For MHT to say a positive. I would think a shift to IAD is a win for most flyers. EWR is much worse on delays in winter and all year really. IAD is the better place to connect for most people more of the time. Does the fact that the CRJ700 has a first class cabin help with the yields verse the EWR ...
