The T/Rs often have a major role in disturbing the airflow over the wings lessening the lifting effects and so they don't actually do as much braking through throwing thrust the other way as aiding the reaction force of the wheels on the runway along with the spoilers but they don't do all that much...

Maybe this little cart thing on the Nose gear could be used on the main gear too and on landing have it connected so as the motors are used to generate electricity as the aircraft is slowed? just a thought.

Maybe (just a guess here) its because the flights for the sukhoi will be much shorter and so it makes it more efficient to have small erengines because they take less time to spool up. Yeah you are right, hence the name intercooling and not precooling. I was just trying to show that the pressure change would be less. Not right to use on an aircraft though because of the weight.

Because of the rewiring there had to be some alterations with control computers. There was an issue with some feedback and response times due to the different lengths of wires. Thats all i can tell you  Wink

I personally see boeing (and airbus for that matter) doing a sort of 3 1/2 pronged attack with the airbus planes being a smidgen larger in each case. I think we'll see a gigantic twin from boeing for Y3 around the 400 seat market, this will end the 747 and 777, just slightly below where the A380 lie...
