I was going home for a few days, because I had a wedding to attend. I was originally supposed to fly on a redeye from PHX-JFK. There were thunderstorms in NY, so my flight ended up being delayed. I got an email from DL, that gave me the option to switch to an earlier flight. I decided to change my f...

Two weeks ago, Delta retired their MD-88/90 aircraft. It was one of my favorite planes, in their fleet. I flew on my last MD-88, the day before they were retired. I am still working on that trip report. Before that, I started working on this. I had some pictures from a trip I took to Atlanta, a few ...
Jump to postNice photos. Looks like you had a nice variety of aircraft. Sounds like quite a tiring day of traveling, however. I don't think I could pull off that kind of trip without turning into a zombie. I can't sleep on planes at all. My favorite plane of the day was the MD-88. I took one last flight on one...
Jump to postNice little TR! Strange to see such relaxed procedures with an US airline. Offloading, at least in my company, would result in full safety and security check and screening. But I can only applause for this - right - decision by the crew. Yes, It was pretty quick. We only ended up taking off, about ...
Jump to postI had a few days off for my fall break, so I decided to do some flying. After looking at a few different options, I came across a flight on AA to DFW. It was on a 787. I had yet to fly one, so I decided I would go to DFW. I was scheduled to fly on an A321 to LAX, and then the 787 to DFW. The flight ...
Jump to postBack in February I found a flight to CLE on DL, I was going to take for miles. The flight was also on an MD-88 to CLE. Since DL is retiring them next month, this probably was my last flight on an MD88. I was taking a redeye to ATL, so I got to the airport an hour before my flight. https://i.imgur.co...
Jump to postNice report of a somewhat ordinary service! Just out of curiosity and because I do this kind of day trips in another part or the world: You arrived at 9.15am and you left at 5pm. Never been to JFK and never been to NYC either but from what I read and I hear these are busy places. How much time did ...
Jump to postI ended up having to go to New York City for the day. I was planning on flying DL down and back. When I was looking at flights though, I saw that the morning jetBlue flight was on an A320. The flight is usually on an E190. Two days this week, the flight was an A320 though. When jetBlue first started...
Jump to postI had a long weekend, and was meeting some family in Atlanta. When I was looking at options, there were flights on American, Delta and jetBlue. Some of my family were flying jetBlue, so I decided to meet them in BOS and take the same flight. I was taking an overnight from PHX. I got to the airport a...
Jump to postI guess I hadn't considered that many of the restaurants at even a large airport like LHR will likely be shuttered. Hopefully I don't go hungry. It was really strange seeing the airports like that. Almost all of the restaurants were closed. ORD and DTW had a couple places open. SNA and PHX only had...
Jump to postCollegeAviator wrote:Quite the scene seeing these empty flights during these surreal times. I guessing you had to quarantine after this trip? Thank you for sharing this!
I'm impressed with the bag that DL provided. Great TR. I'm sure some of those sights at normally-bustling airports like ORD and PHX were eerie. The DL flights were better, AA gave out nothing. It was definitely strange seeing the airports empty. DL only had 9 departures at PHX, the day i was flying.
Jump to postI'm curious as to why PHX had ATC delays when there were so few flights departing or arriving. I am not sure the exact reason for the delay. AA just said it was due to "ATC delays". I listened to Live ATC, and one controller mentioned an issue with Albuquerque Center. A lot of flights wer...

For the past few months during Coronavirus, I have been at home in New York. Something urgent came up, and I ended up having to fly to Phoenix for a few days. I looked at some flights and ended up booking, the two flights on AA. I originally booked a flight, with a connection in Philadelphia for the...
Jump to postAt the end of the semester, I was going home for the break. Before I went home for a few weeks, I was going to go to New York City for a few days. Jump to postAt the end of the summer, I was meeting my family for a week in Aruba. I was coming from PHX. The rest of my family would be going from NY. I was taking a few summer classes, and had my last final the day before I was leaving. I was taking a redeye to CLT, then a flight to AUA. AA has two PHX-CLT re...
Jump to postAfter taking my last CFI checkride, I was going to Florida for a few days, and then home before I start my job as a flight instructor. Jump to postThis was a trip that I took a while ago. I had it written up, but never posted it. I was going home for a few days, for Thanksgiving. Jump to postJust a quick question as I am a little confused. You write you started pushback 6 minutes early but you have your Sched Departure time as 1604 and actual as 1621. That would be 17 minutes late. You do realize the published departure time is the pushback time and then there is the off time which is ...
Jump to postI had some AA miles that I wanted to use, and decided to go home for a few days. I booked it two days before the flight. This trip, would be the first time I flew on an AA A330. Jump to postI was going to be a little short in qualifying for elite status on DL. I decided to take an extra flight to make sure I qualified. Jump to postIn August I booked my flight home for thanksgiving. I decided to go with AA for the flight out, and UA for the return. I originally booked PHX-SFO-ORD-SYR. Jump to postNot to veer too far off-subject, but why is there a policy of requiring the exact routing on an award ticket during IROPS? Jump to postI had plans to go to New York City in November. I originally booked myself on AA from PHX-LAX-JFK for the outbound, and B6 A321 for the return. Jump to postSeems like a typical "AA" experience, especially of out NY. There's a reason why they are far behind Delta and now getting further behind United. A few weeks ago, I read that CX was ending their flight from YVR-JFK. When I heard this, I decided I wanted to take the flight before it ends.
