Mostly it comes from the military perspective that they want something that is off the shelf. They don't want to wait for extensive R&D, they want an aircraft that only require a minimal amount of time spent developing new technologies and perfecting them.

I believe that they are doing this as a sort of reverse psychology. Because Bush is more likely to have a showdown with them about their nuclear weapons programs, than Kerry is.

So by supporting Bush they make him look bad, and make Kerry seem better.

Why don't we just keep one thread on the polling stats instead on a new one everytime a poll shows someone's particular candiatate in the lead. Because the stats will change just about everyday until Nov 2nd. Which then it will change hourly based on exit poll data.
