Title says it all. Why are there PAPI's on the east bound runways at LAX and not on the westbound? Is it just not necessary because of the ILS? Is this unusual?

With them starting with 800 and 900 series aircraft, it will just limit the usage of the family number. The days of 9 different series aircraft in the same family (ala 737) is probably gone.

Well, 8 is a lucky number in Asian cultures and with that being the largest market for new aircraft, why not put a lucky number in there...even if you do have to stary off a new aircraft series with -800.

RNO is classified as an international airport but has no scheduled international service. There is full time customs and immigration facilities, however.
