Not sure about the graveyard idea... I do like the photographer profile idea. That could be kinda cool if done correctly. Perhaps a link to a page that has a few lines about the photographer, type of equipment they use, maybe some personal stuff and then thumbnails of the photographers favorite 5 or...Jump to post
Johan, I noticed that some of the ads are increasingly from more respected companies. I saw Monster and a few others lately that I am not afraid of clicking on. I was wondering if this was by chance or is just what happened to be picked by the company that does the advertising? I am still seeing tha...Jump to post
I can understand all of the above. If the circuit city ad wasn't an annoying one I will click on it. The reason why I don't click on any ads is because I don't know where they will take me. Before I know it, I will end up with some sort of spyware by clicking on some of these classless ads. Your ad ...Jump to post
When it first came out I voted every day too. Lately though, that ad with the talking smileys and the flying ninja from circuit city has just been too much for me and I haven't been looking at the photos too much. I know ads are needed, and I can live with that but when they start preventing you fro...Jump to post
Ads by casale
Doesn't say who owns the ads, but it is the one with all the smileys that scream "Hellooooo"
Any chance of getting this type of ad removed?
I agree with the screeners on that one. I think it was a good idea but I think the thing that kills it is the lighting. If it had the perfect afternoon lighting it would totally make the photo. Not bad though, I like it, just don't think it will make it like that.Jump to post
Would that have worked with a Cessna, or even a 737 taking up the same amount of space in the frame?
Might a 777 even made it in? I just hope that wasn't just accepted due to the fact that the flying cow is in it.
It was a cool idea though, Congrats!
Anyone else as annoyed by this ad as I am? Enough with the stupid talking ads. I can understand if I clicked on them but just dragging my mouse across it? Gimmie a break. If Circuit city sends one more ninja flying across my screen I am never going into another one of their stores again! And before ...Jump to post
On another note, what happened to all the Denver photogs... Jeff, are you ever going to upload from Denver again? Where is Alex, did he give up? Ever since those signs went up at DIA that blocked off everything good the photos have become few and far between. Perhaps the police finally got what they...Jump to post
Was this at Centennial? Geez, you sure did attract alot of attention. I think one of the things you have to be careful of is standing on top of cars. If you stand out when taking pictures you are almost asking for it these days. If you are just standing by your car, or near a bikepath/picnic table k...Jump to post
My shot did get rejected, I appealed it and 5 min later it was in. I have one more in the queue that is apparently waiting for Johan. Hopefully it goes too. Here is the one still waiting, wish it luck. <a href="http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/196_9685.JPG" target=_blank>http://www.airli...Jump to post
Yeah, I tried a few with a landscape kind of view but decided that it was a little too much of the landscape and not enough of a light trail. I wanted a bit more of the light trail and went for the portrait style and ended up liking what I got out of it. The photo has been rejected for bad motiv... ...Jump to post
Any hope to salvage this one or is it a lost cause?
Yeah, that I can agree with. I think it is an interesting photo for pilots familiar with that particular airport since it is a huge landmark in the pattern (not that I teach people to use landmarks for pattern work). If you takeoff from that runway though, that is your view and I thought it was pret...Jump to post
Well, the subject is obviously "flying while over a mall". In terms of there not being enough airplane in the shot, I don't buy that as there are thousands of other photos on here that have just as much airplane in the shot. If it because there is a urban shopping area in the photo instead of a nice...Jump to post
Hey guys, just had this one rejected for bad motiv. Thinking about appealing but not sure so I figure I would put it to a vote. I have had several others with the same motiv accepted so I am curious as to why this one was deemed a bad motive. Anyway, here is the photo" <a href="http://www.airliners....Jump to post
Ha, that would be an incredible shot. Too bad that is in P-56 and they would be shot down if they actually flew over it. I have been watching them go over the Potomac though and have thought about that several times. They are a little too far behind the memorial though for a shot that would look rig...Jump to post
Woah, I hope my post above didn't come across as a flame for the screeners. I think the past few months have brought alot of new artsy photos to the database and I am a big fan of those. I think the screeners have been doing a great job lately... I was just wondering if the above are types of screen...Jump to post
Just a quick question for a screener. When you guys open a photo do you look at it and say, "hey, thats a good photo, I like it, and the quality is good, its an upload" or do you go through every rule/possible rejection reason and say "ok, check on rule 1, check on rule 2, check on 3, oh, it breaks ...Jump to post
You could always go over to Jeffco and take a discovery type of flight. Tell them you want to see the area and take some photos. If I was still there I would totally take you up. Check out McAir Aviation if you are interested in that sort of thing, they are a quality operation and all new airplanes.Jump to post
I think I already know the answer to this but I decided to give it a shot anyway... I live in the apartments next to it and see it all day long. For the last three weeks the winds have been favoring 19 for the most part. If you want to snag a ton of hours Florida, and Airizona are probably your best bets. Most important thing is to find a GOOD school though. Also if you are just instructing to build a bunch of hours you probably shouldn't be instructing and eventually that will show to your students. Not saying this...Jump to post
Any idiot can fly a plane when the conditions are clear blue and a million and everything works as planned. When an emergency happens and things start to not work properly in IMC is the true measurement of a pilot's training and abilities. And to answer your question, shortly after I got my Private ...Jump to post
Had some convective sigmets in the area south of DIA the other night with lots of lightning and I managed to catch some of it with the camera. Have this shot waiting for the screeners to make a decision on it. <a href="http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/185_8546lightning.jpg" target=_blank...Jump to post
