RE: Night Final Approach Shot - Keep Or Withdraw?

I just recently discovered that you can manipulate the MFD and PFD seperately. Before I was just using the knobs on the left side. As soon as I found the softkey and took the brightness off of auto my students started seeing a whole lot less of that PFD and we still kept the TIS going on the MFD. Th...

RE: Night Final Approach Shot - Keep Or Withdraw?

I have tried that a few times and can say it is pretty hard to do. For me, the knee and the grain kill it. Good job in keeping your aispeed while doing that though... Hopefully you weren't flying and taking the photo ;o) I think if you turn the MFD and PFD down to the lowest setting using the softke...

I remember there was a guy that did one from san diego I think where he combined about 15 shots of an approch into one photo. He took all the photos from the same spot and cloned them together... It looked great! Too bad that sort of thing isn't allowed.

I have heard very good things about this lens as it seems to be alot of people's "walk around lens" that they always keep on their camera. There was a flight of 5 Marine F-18s at Jeffco today, there was also a sweet looking T-33 doing fly bys. All would have made great shots. I even used runway 20 today due to the winds. Why a tighter crop? I agree, if you want to get it accepted you probably need a tighter crop, but in my opinion, I like to have some blue sky between the nose/tail and the edge of the photo. I'm thinking bad motive. The fence on the bottom and the light on the top right are a bit distracting. I would say bad motive. I mean, I see what you were trying to do but from that angle you have got to have the entire aircraft in the frame. No cut off parts. If you do cut off parts they need to be equal on each side I think. Only problem is you can't do that in this angle.
