Re: AA early 747 question

That was not a rest area. It was featured in the Boeing 747 brochure as AAs upper deck cabin. Also, this is from the April 19 inaugural sfo flight. Notice the white paint base since it's a paa plane. https://s3.amazonaws.com/media.sfomuseum.org/styles/collections_desktop/s3/museum/collection/images/...

AA early 747 question

So being such a 747 nut, this has been getting me curious for some time now: I know AA leased their first 747 from paa in 1970 because they were waiting in line for their own from Boeing. The initial plane was even paa white instead of aluminum. I have seen very very few photos of the paa operated b...

Re: Anyone know which cabin this is supposed to be?

The first class pic looks like the AA DC-10 interior. See link below for comparison https://twitter.com/AirlineLoop/status/804241665665957888/photo/3 No, those windows look different. However they do look like the windows on some of the old style 747s, possibly it's a 747SP. That's why I thought 74...

Yeah guys I think this is the Same dc10 mock-up that aa lends out to other movies. https://i.imgur.com/F3lxc2Y.jpg You can see in this photo from home alone, the main giveaway is that there is the same vertical line in the fuelsalage wall which is there in both photos from the Stella movie which mak...

Re: Anyone know which cabin this is supposed to be?

The movie is on HBO for free right now fyi. And the plane that lands in Jamaica is a 767 from the outside but that is clearly not a 767 mock-up because the windows are different. There was so much AA placement in the movie I have a hard time believing it was just some set company like the ones based...

This is a rare photo of the AA 767-300 which had the same seat style but in beige. The DC10 had an additional tuft of labswool and was slightly different from this version.

Anyone know which cabin this is supposed to be?

I really like when airlines have heavy product placement in a movie. AA has been in quite a few and the home alone movies come to mind in which they highlight the international flagship service abord their dc10. There is this movie called how Stella got her groove back which came out in 1998 and has...

I found the 1946 Boeing 377 promo film (below). At 7:50 in, they outline the seating situation. Basically, Pan Am, like most carriers who operated the Stratocruiser with sleeping bunks, would sell the seat at whatever the published fare happened to be, and then offer the bunk at a supplemental surcharge. The bunks were sold on a first come, first serve basis, and once they were sold, the rema...
