They simply had their cars configured for the rain and everyone else for the dry, knowing F1 doesn't have races under the rain anyway, at most on drying conditions.

If Taiwan had nuclear weapons, China would think twice before attacking. Not really necessary because the US nuclear umbrella extends to ROK, Japan and ROC. That doesn't really work if MAD is involved. Yes the US would probably help Taiwan, but not if the price is a nuke lobbed at the US mainland.

Even if he intended to resign, I'm not sure why he would say so to anyone. Popes have been replaced after their death for millenia, death that usually comes relatively suddenly. If one day he announces he resigns out of the blue, it won't cause any issue. And at least it gives less time to the worst...
