VS will no doubt be relooking their plans I'd suspect. Though they may go into partnership with LM (who've just announced a partnership with KLM) on the Scottish routes which provide a lot of custom especially on the MCO route

Jet2 operate to NYC from the vast majority of their bases.
NCL see's 8 NYC flighs, GLA 2, EMA and BFS 1 each. MAN and LBA 8 or 9 each also.

Manchester is a nice city. Nowhere near as nice as Edinburgh, but is still a nice city (as long as you stay away from Moss Side). If you want partying in the UK however, then Newcastle is where you head to.
