Re: Uruguay will launch a new airline

That's a great way to loose a lot of money. Just as fast to setting it on fire. It has all the characteristics of a vanity project. The guy behind the project (a local who works for Qatar Airways as a captain) was also behind another Uruguayan airline, U-Air, that operated briefly a 2 decades ago. ...

. You think Aeromexico could try the Bolivian market? i know Delta or United would be pretty much out of the question since American and Boliviana are more than enough on the Bolivia-US market..also Cubana is a shell of what it used to be fleet-wise anyways. A few details have emerged of the proposed new airline for Uruguay. It all seems a bit far-fetched and overly optimistic, considering that Uruguay seems to be doing well with the current level of air connectivity. https://www.aviacionline.com/2024/01/new-uruguay-based-airline-plans-to-add-10-airbus-...

Re: Why is such a lack of airline service in Bolivia?

Back in the '80s the late Stephen Piercey authored several 'Sky Truck' books that dealt with old freight-hauling prop aircraft. A big chunk of his photos were shot in Bolivia, which had a thriving airfreight scene at that time. Everything from the expected DC-3/4/6s to B-17s and -24s. Lots of meat-...
