it is possible if within the previous few weeks because the regos will still be on the airline computer, but if you are talking about a flight from ages ago I wouldn't think you can unless a spotter from here saw the plane operate the flight on the date in question.

my first couple have been rejected, it seems to be the scan quality, because the actual photos look as good as most of the photos that make it here, so I will get them scanned better and try again.

answer: Americans don't like diesel cars much, they like big V8 engines. The same can be said for Australia & NZ. so do you guys get the Mitsubishi Evo 6 Lancers (we won't mention the Evo 7 cos it sucks) over in the states? that has acceleration that could beat most cars.

I'll be out to photograph her sometime soon. I am fond of the VS livery....I love the wingtips...I have a photo from underneath the winglet of VROS, so hopefully can get as good a set of film as I did from VROS.

VS should come here. I agree that it shouldn't be via LAX because of 3 other airlines flying the route, but it could fly via one of the Asian centres. Air New Zealand looks like it is panicking too early to me. Virgin Blue hasn't even confirmed they are coming...they will use the current two freedom aircraft + another 733.

SQ 744 & 744F,NZ 744,QF 744 UA 744 & LX 744F are the biggest regulars...we also get AN124 every 4 or so months...TG 773 is the largest twinjet.

the 727 VH DHE is louder than the NZ 732s in my opinion(having seen & heard them take off almost consecutively on Saturday...I would also say the EZ & PO 742Fs are loud as well.

CX operated a 744 a few weeks back, and sometimes on Chinese New Year, but it is infrequent & definitely not once every 2 weeks.....more like once every 2-4months. The AKL-LAX flights are usually packed...UA & QF were both full when they left for LAX last night, and I would expect the NZ flight that...

AirNZ does not have PTVs in Economy yet...
New Zealand is pretty good for tourists,cos our economy sucks you can pick up some great Duty free bargains. An English friend of mine just picked up a new 100-300mm lens for the equivalent of about 120pounds, or about $180US (I think).

I would expect CX to upgrade to 744 again in the future. Singapore are apparently happy with filling the once a day 744, and will not up their frequency for now....

Air Tahiti Nui & Aerolineas definitely operate them....have seen both airlines aircraft in Auckland. Not too sure if the asian airlines went for the A342 at all...seems to be too much range with not enough payload for them...

they get it straight off Galileo or Sabre..the computer reservations systems that airlines use, if you know anyone working with airline computers you can ask them to look the regos for a certain flight for you.

I thought SIN-LHR had SQs highest payload levels. I haven't flown this route but from what I hear there is a passenger waiting list at many times of the year, which obviously means that they need capacity in this route. You will not find the A380 reducing frequency....Airlines like SQ will fill thes...

Airlines like SQ have already got a maximum number of slots at LHR so they have to boost capacity on this route. In order to do this they will use A380 on all the current flights to LHR and places where they want extra capacity but can't get the slots, and not cut back on frequency.

it isn't a surprise that it will come to NZ.....basically it will replace the 763 on international flights, and the 763s will replace the 762 on domestic, and get supplemented by the A330s

AKL gets Lufthansa MD11Fs,China Airlines/Mandarin Airlines MD11s & the occasional FedEx MD11.....these are a minority now, we used to get Thai & Korean Md11s, now we just get their 777s
