MD80-Hushkits

Insel Air's p4-MDI is the only Md80 (Md83) that I've ever seen with huskits on the JT8D! I am aware that these aircraft did or do depending on region meet noise regulations, just barely! We always see Hushkits on Gulfstreams, Boeing 727-100/00, 737-200, dc9 and other vintage jets Which operators cur...

737-NG without winglets

I know there were many previous threads, however there should be more light shed on this. Other than some GOL 737-700, three AS 739er, and some Korean air 737-900, and a 2 Sun Country aircraft, which 737-700 737-800 737-900 are without winglets in 2016? Instead of suggesting I return to another foru...

Which runways warrant airbus MAX braking setting

Given an average crosswind at 5knt, clear 40mi conditions and a 60% load factor at landing, which airports require Airbus aircraft using the MAX braking setting as opposed to the Low or MEdium

Re: SNA vs. LGA vs. DCA. vs. BUR vs. EYW

I've been to all but Key west EYR. I like burbank because of the unique runway... out of these 5 airports, which ones do airbus a318(ACJ or hypothetical)/19/20/21 use max braking at? Or do they just use auto Medium? Anyone have thoughts on key west? Which gates at BUR and DCA can handle 757-2--/300 ...

SNA vs. LGA vs. DCA. vs. BUR vs. EYW

5 U.S. airports: 4 States. All considered some of the more "Sporty" airports that require a little more oomph by both the aircraft and the crew's attention. When it comes to runway length, Approaches, and configs., which one truly lives up to the place of America's most "sporty" ...

Re: JetBlue Tails and Paint Thread

Why are some of the classic tails being repainted? I remember seeing tons of the Harlequin, Stripes, and Dots tails at FLL and JFK. Now most of them are just Barcode and Blueberries. Personally I think it's because JetBlue is becoming a stingy lower and lower low cost airline. 3 liveries (tartan Bl...

Re: Active Dc8/L1011 THREAD/Message Board

Interesting: the -500 N91011 looks more promising to restore and fly than the -100. The -500 headless one on it and the parts are less scarce. Why would they risk it all with the -100 when they have a low time, safer, less risky and already partially restored N91011 ready to go? Would that make 3 in...

Active DC-8/L-1011 Fleet Tracking/Retirements Thread

I just received my issue of airliner world and I noticed a company from Brazil known as "Brascoota" is said to have an active Dc8-72 from skybus air cargo, and a company from Jordan Called "Barq aviation" is listed of having 3 L1011 TriStar's (1 -250 and two -500) Are there any a...

JetBlue Tails and Paint Thread

Howdy y'all. As a frequent JetBlue flyer (10-15 times a year) I cannot help but notice that Blueberries, Tartan, and Barcode are eating up all the classic tail designs that were once symbolic with "variety" at JetBlue. It looks like Tartan and Blueberries account for over 70% of the Tails ...
