RE: Your Top 5 Or 10 Of Worst Airline Paintschemes

Worst Iberia(need I say more??) Air New Zealand(the 'Pacific Wave' is faded) SAS(the lettering on the side is hard to read from a distance) Delta(the original) I've hated it since I began spotting, it looked dated in the eighties. Hawaiian....Pink Red & Silver....yuck Olympic....I've seen newer look...

RE: 757-300 - What A Flop .

remember a 744 takes a longer period of time(and more space in the hanger) to build than a 753 so 2000-3000 could be built faster. I suspect you are right about not building that many though. I'll speculate and say that the 753 will be a reasonable success. To me Airlines that may well consider it(s...

RE: QF Cutting More Routes To Asia (TPE), Europe

BR does NOT operate TPE-BNE-AKL it operated TPE-AKL, but they have announced that they are pulling out when the winter schedule starts. QF seems to be able to fill seats codeshared with AR to EZE, so I think they'll keep going there for now.

RE: Canadian B767's Heading South To AN-Australia!

I would expect 763s, AN have been after 763s for ages to go along side VH BZF, and this saves NZ from giving up 4 of their own, which are needed for transtasman/asian flights

RE: BA Wants To Trade 744s To Boeing For 773s

Singapore is the best exponent of filling 744s I feel(they fill them to capacity regularly on many routes), and it looks like VS are trying to following their example. BA are adopting a different strategy, they have more slot, so they use smaller sized planes in order to get higher payloads, whereas...

RE: First Potential B747X Strech Customer Annouced

Think about it....the only reason the original 747 had a hump on top was because Boeing thought it would be come a freighter within 10 years because of the interest in building SST's. I would actually have picked JAL or ANA to launch the 747X Stretch(as pax carriers), but Korean is a large cargo ope...

I think perhaps airlines with hubs get more dedicated check in facilities & faster ground staff. but they do pay for having hubs.

I think Malaysian is at risk, as is Air New Zealand, but I don't think they are quite in the league of TWA. Aerolineas Argentinas could also be classed in the same catagory too.

RE: Aircraft Spotter.....

The reason behind collecting regos for me is so that I can see which aircraft I have photographed and which I haven't, for example I have taken photos of all the TG 773s except HS TKF. If HS TKE arrives in NZAA I will not take a photo of it, because I have photographed it before but I will record it...

here at NZAA we get NZ,QF,UA,SQ 744s daily with MH 744s 5x a week. Air China did operate 744s until withdrawal from NZAA. TG flies 773 here daily, Korean 772 & 773. We also get Polar & Evergreen & CargoLux 747 freighters a few times a week.

RE: Caac Pulls Out Of New Zealand

this will be the second time EVA will have pulled out of NZAA in about 3 years...I remember China Southwest...I was out there when it made it's maiden voyage here. It is sad, but with codeshares there isn't much the airlines can do if the market isn't big enough for two plane loads.

I heard this from a good friend that works at NZAA as flight dispatcher so he has the latest timetable & info for NZAA.......I don't know which aircraft, but I would presume MD11 .

Sweet as Jase, you'll probably be aware that Lufthansa Cargo will begin services, Eva is pulling out and MH is moving back to 744s instead of 772s

RE: A380- Ugly Hulk Or Beutiful Bird?

I don't mind the A380s shape, I but I think the position of the cockpit windscreen is too low on the nose, and isn't that because it is on it's own level? if the cockpit was on the top deck it would look better......incidently the 772 is my favourite aircraft.
