Their announced plans for layoffs are reason enough for the regulatory bodies to kill the merger on anti-trust grounds. They have clearly announced that this is an anti-competitive move. Hogwash. If nothing else, maybe this will stop the hemorrhaging. KLM gone, Air Berlin never started, and Emirates pulling the A380 were not expected in a community creating as many jobs as Dallas and Fort Worth have.

I was surprised that when UA added CHA, they deliberately said no service to IAD or IAH, despite CHA city fathers wanting service to those two hubs. UA will never be able to provide service from CHA to points westward without IAH.
